At least as far as the examples they mentioned, more than not bigoted, gender inclusive language would be more accurate. If two men or two women are having intercourse, what else would you call it than sex? More than anything it is accepting the reality that stuff like sex or love don’t only happen between a man and a woman.

Totally had flashbacks of Fune wo Amu, imagining all the editors curating the words and stuff.

Good on them! Especially mentioning that it's not only for high schoolers because there's always oppurtunity for everyone to learn and become more accepting.

Considering how conservative and yes, sexist, Japan is, the fact that they're starting to be more inclusive is a big step.

Transgender people have always existed. Recognition of their existence goes back generations. Scientific research on the subject was specifically targeted for destruction by the Nazis (see: Hirschfeld, Magnus).

Interesting. I'm not a big language buff but it's still kinda fascinating seeing the evolution of certain terms, in particular the way kusa being slang for lol due to the way the Japanese word for laughter is sometimes abbreviated was neat.
Side note, uh, remember that when we see blatantly hateful, rule breaking posts, it's best not to argue (and especially not to quote) them as it just makes more hassle for the mods when they come in to delete the reported posts. |

Noted. I'll have to remember to shift my habits in cases like this, where the posts can be reasonably expected to be deleted. Apologies to Ms. Loveridge for the extra trouble. |
