What exactly do them mean when they say "bilingual"?

I was at the Supanova convention, and the Madman panel event.
I can't remember his exact words, but the Madman staffer said something along the lines of "both the cut/dub episodes and the uncut/sub episodes on the one disk".
I interpreted that to mean that the dub audio would only accompany the cut video, and the uncut would be sub only.

That would be very reasonable, for there's no English dialogue recorded for deleted scenes, and a (new) Japanese dub with cuts (in order to fit into the edited version) would be completely worthless.

But isn't the upcoming uncut boxset from Viz bilingual, meaning that new English dialogue was recorded for whatever scenes were deleted (or, most likely, toned down)?
If that's the case, it might be in Madman's best interest to wait for Viz to give them the uncut version of the dub, since releasing a cut/dubbed version and an uncut/subbed version on the same disc is rather silly, IMO.

Naruto is uncut only. In both english and japanese. No edited Naruto will ever be available in Australia from Madman. Madman may release it Naruto in boxset form but i believe it will be disc by disc.

This sounds wonderful. Would Madman wait for the uncut dub from Viz or make a dub of their own? I've been wondering how would English dubs to be done by different English-speaking countries: sharing or independent?

It had occured to me that an english dub to match the uncut video may also be available. I have not been following the American production, so I didn't know.
As for a locally produced dub. As much as I would be amused to hear the ninjas of Konoha with Aussie accents, I think it is highly unlikely. Madman is in the business of taking American bi-lingual productions from many different companies, and locallising them with a few changes. They produce new DVDs with thier own company trailers, new menus and sometimes change the number of episodes per disk.
On a side note, I asked the Madman staff in wether they were likely to release any series with sub only (such as Cardcaptor Sakura) . He said that they currently only intend to release shows that have dubs, to keep the fans that watch dub only happy.

Just to clarify things.
We will be releasing Naruto completely UNCUT with an uncut dub and uncut subtitled verison on the same disc. While we currently don't have plans for a TV edit release it may happen if Naruto does end up on TV. But for the time being we are only 100% commited to releasing it uncut and in bilingual form like we have done with InuYasha.
