It would be nice if he could drop his superior attitude, for once.

About time. It really wonders me how the heck some people still ardently follows this guy even with his mediocre resume.

*takes one good look at Yamakan's history*
That's pretty much all I can say on that matter. I love this age where powerful men are held accountable for their actions. |

Everytime I see stuff about Yamakan I get sad. He used to be cool. He did some stuff I really liked. Now he's just embarrassing.

Just stop it, Yamakan. You're an embarrassment to yourself and everyone that affiliated themselves with you.

Yamakan is not really powerful, though. He was successful for a very small space of time until he fucked up everything and lost his chance of having any influence. No one in the industry respects him. |

RIP Yamakan's Twitter. To be frank, you have made great points, for a snarky troll.

Yamakan tells truths, however, there are three ways to do so:
Smooth Literal Vicious and he falls into the latter category. I can understand how he thinks what he thinks, but he walys says things in a way that offends people or blows them out of proportion. Also, he's not acting out of arrogance, it's simply his official personality. He really needs to tone down how he says things, he'd be more respected and very apreciated by the fans if he simply smoothed out what he wants to say, even if the end result is brutal. |

Real talk: Yamakan has done nothing to distinguish himself as a director. He's given the world a couple of generic moe shows (because lord knows we didn't have enough of those) and his one ambitious project, Fractale, is best remembered as a spectacular commercial flop (and for his boasts before it premiered that it would single-handedly change anime forever. We all know how that turned out.)
The only reason thing he's known is because of his big mouth, and folks with big mouths are a dime a dozen on Twitter. No big loss to anyone. |

Speaking of Fractale, I recall it actually had promise. The premise was interesting. But, halfway through the story, it feels like something changed. I think it was also for that reason the manga artist doing the manga adaptation eventually lost interest in working on it. Thinking back, maybe the artist too was of dealing with Yamakan?

Curious if he had any specific complaints, because I can't recall hearing anyone else having problems with Saito P's work with Anisama, or what the end result looks like. How would he prefer to see the event being run?
Here's an interview where he goes through a lot of the work that goes on behind the scenes. Last edited by Sparvid on Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:19 pm; edited 1 time in total |

To be fair, at the time, they were not so generic. |
