Hmm not sure how I feel about this, loved Broly as a character (original plot issues not withstanding) but with the introduction of Kale in DBS I kind of feel like Toriyama should have refused.
But with Toriyama behind the story this may be pretty solid film, lets hope they can figure out a decent explanation on how Broly fits in terms of Cannon. .

I'm gonna wait for a PV before getting more excited about this film.

Utterly sickening. Broly is the worst thing to happen to this franchise. A less charismatic villain I cannot recall. And his fans... the less said, the better.

It's a shame you didn't show that level of respect to Bardock fans.

Broly is more like a meme than an actual character. I have doubts the movie will be good, but I doubt it will be too hard to enjoy through the power of nostalgia.

Yup, totally canon. The only slightly sad thing is that this will probably ignore the past Broly films, but ah well.

Well....crap.
Ok, if the meme is going to be canonized, Toriyama can you do us a solid and make Cooler canon too? Please?

No probably. Toriyama already said it would, he said he reworked the character.

Gotenks isn't even that bad. He's a gag character and neither he nor the series at large pretends otherwise. The only truly tragic thing about him is that he makes Goten pointless by himself. Broly on the other hand is entirely devoid of personality and interesting backstory. He's somehow managed to become as popular as he is through appearance alone. He's almost as lazy a character as Cooler, who's pretty much just a slightly taller, pallet swapped Frieza, but at least he ended up with a unique gimmick of having infinite bodies. Broly is all (bland) style, no substance.

I kind of felt the opposite. Once Kale was introduced it felt inevitable that Broly would become canon. The whole idea of Universe 6 is that it's populated by counterparts of the "main" universe's characters, so if Kale exists there, then her counterpart, Broly, must exist in Universe 7. I figured she was basically foreshadowing the entrance of Broly into proper Dragon Ball canon. I'm looking forward to seeing how they pull this off.
Hopefully, when the next Dragon Ball TV series inevitably comes along, the first story arc won't just be an adaption of this movie.

Oh man, I agree. In fact, at the moment, that's my worst fear. We don't need another drawn out adaption.
