So AX is asking me to risk identity theft with a credit card and pay interest, because they don't think checks are good enough. Where's the "convenience" in that? |

Careful, I hear that if you breath on your computer a hacker can steal your DNA and then use it to commit crimes that CSI will track back to you. Paranoid much ? While credit card fraud is a very real risk, its also a very minor risk when you consider the number of people that use credit cards on a regular basis. Check fraud remains just as real a danger as credit card fraud. As for identity theft, it takes more than a credit card. The most valuable thing for identiy theft is your SSN, next is your drivers license. When I send people a copy (fax or whatever) of my drivers license for verification, I always black out the license #.
You'd pay interest on your check too if it was money you didn't have. Just pay off your credit card right away, and voila, no interest. If you don't have the money to pay off your credit card, then it really doesn't make any difference whetehr you use a check or a credit card, you don't have the money in either case.
Checks are an archaic form of payment. I'd be more surprised if they did accept checks. Perhaps you'd prefer to trade them some livestock? -t |
