After episode 4, I can't wait for the next volume. I really hope somebody decides to license this... here's hoping synch-point gets it Smile

Epsiode 4 was indeed undeniably awesome! spoiler[Nono's whole pseudo "magical-girl" transformation scene mixed with scenes that really looked like from End of Eva was just gorgeous. Though I did sort of knew that Nono was a Buster Blade herself.] Of course this considering Hideaki Anno was involved in this episode, so yeah it's quite fu***ed up! Hopefully episode 5 can maintain that level. Cool

And no, I don't want Synch-Point getting it especially with their sproradic (to almost nonexistant) release schedule. Mad

Can't Wait! Episode 4 rocked on so many levels (it had been a while since I had so much fun with an anime episode).
When this comes out on R1, it will be on the top of my MUST BUY List.!

Okay, so they take their time with releases. But you can't deny how amazing their English dub of FLCL was. My only complain with FLCL was that it cost me $100 for 6 episodes Rolling Eyes

Volume 5 released? SO who the hell cares? My question is:

WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO RELEASE THE ORIGINAL GUNBUSTER: AIM FOR THE TOP series to DVD? They've been talking and talking and talking about this for so long that it's making me seasick. I love the original Top wo Nerae series.

Well, if we are still talking about R2 releases, then the Original Gunbuster is ready for purchase.

I think he meant R1, which I am waiting for as well. It's about time one of the greatest anime ever, Top wo Nerae, gets an English DVD release (the only english version of this is old ass VHS that date back to the early 90s...)

But yes, I love Top wo Nerae 2....episode 5 is going to be godly.

Yeah, I was referring to the R1 release. Gunbuster was one of the very first anime titles I ever bought and I fell in love with the characters. The sequel series just seems more of an attempt at fan service than anything else.

Seeing as Manga no longer has Gunbuster, I'd assume that whoever has it now will make an announcement once Diebuster's done.

Diebuster itself is shaping up.

Funny, that's what I thought about the Original Gunbuster...until I saw episode 4 (but even then it just turned into good story + fanservice rather than just fanservice by itself).

The same thing has happened with Die Buster.

The similarities are incredible.

It was confirmed on AOD that whoever owns the license to 'Gunbuster 2' also owns the license for the original 'Gunbuster'. Who this company is we don't know. The fact they bought the license after it expired from Manga's grasp suggests a release is likely in the near future.

Could you send us a link to this confirmation on AoD?
The AoD forum was just talking about it the other day and I don't remember a confirmation coming up.

We did talk about how if a company decided to license it that they would probably get both licenses at the same time.

I think you might be referring to a third hand report that I provided during the forum discussion about some guy from some other forum saying that he had heard from a friend that attended a Geneon Panel that Geneon had said some unnamed company had it (or was looking into it?) but wanted to delay the announcement (woo, catch my breath!).

Anyhow, short story, no confirmation...just a rumor.

Praise the Lord!

I absolutely love both of these series. But ::sigh:: such a long wait....

Anno did work on storyboards for episode 4. It shows.

Keith Burgess told me that Bandai Visual basically jacked up the prices for licensing renewals so that they could keep them. He's pretty sure Gunbuster will probably be released by Honneamise.
