Happened to watch Chaotic Century the other month. It's alright, but boy does it like to repeat itself. I'm a trans-porter of the wasteland!

I have generally fond memories of catching random episodes of New Century/Zero on Toonami, back during my halcyon middle/high school days when I still didn't really know what this whole "anime" thing was but was vaguely interested enough to occasionally tune in during weekday reruns. I remember it being pretty formulaic, but in a fun way: the one evil team would crash almost every match and try to steal the Liger, who'd then kick their butts. The CGI work was impressive for the time period.
And hey, I remember MAR even if no one else does! It's about the most formulaic tournament shounen ever, but it was goofy fun, and the dub (or at least the part that was dubbed) was surprisingly fantastic. |

OMG, that reminds me that I found a little plastic Hamtaro pachinko toy for my kid when he was like 2. It was freaking great, though I probably played it more than he did. |

I'm 99% certain that Van Flyheight was on Toonami before Bit Cloud was. Van, Zeke, Fiona, Moonbay, Irvine, then the later less memorable second-half time skip characters. That was Zoids to me. I distinctly remember being upset that the next Zoids series was just a basic tournament setup with none of the engrossing story from the first series.
So now I'm extremely confused why the article states that the original Zoids aired after the second series. That said, if Discotek could release the first Zoids on DVD that would be amazing. |

Zoids vanilla aired before Chaotic Century. I'm guessing that they put it back on before Fuzors to get enthusiasm up. |

I'd love to see VIZ resurrect it as Blu-ray box sets when they realize they're not going to make as much money from f-ing Boruto. It's been done Pokémon multiple times. The old Zoids DVDs command insance prices. |

There's little doubt about it airing in English in Asia, though who knows how many episodes were done. If it was a Viz show, they might've only dubbed the first half or something to mitigate risk. I found some Filipino forum posts from the era that suggested it was pulled prematurely.
Zero (the show with Bit and the tournament) aired first in North America. Even ANN reported on the original show coming onto CN after the fact back in the day. In Canada, we only got Zero on TV. The original series and Fuzors never aired. |

No, Fuzors was on Saturday Toonami. Zoids CC/GF aired weekday afternoon Toonami, around same time as Outlaw Star/Lebanon/Hamstring/DBZ.

While Discotek is my fav anime company ever (at least since I've been into anime since around 2002), if Viz gets it, so be it. Of course, Viz still won't put out Maison Ikkoku on bluray, so I'm not holding my breath. Besides, if Seven Seas can get a Shonen Jump title (To Love-Ru), nothing is out of the realm of possibility!
I have major nostalgia for both series, but I probably remember more of New Century Zero (I don't think I was ever able to see all of Chaotic Century) |

I agree that Viz needs to rerelease the show, especially Genesis because I want to hope that the whole thing was dubbed and just didn't get to air here. It's been too smegging long.
That or Discotek can get it because I know they'd track down the Genesis dub like they did for Cyborg 009. |

It would be great to see Zoids back in print, but I'm not sure Viz is the right company. Outside of Pokemon, I don't think they'd get away with releasing edited dub-only BDs in 20??. There were rumours the original show/Chaotic Century had an uncut dub produced (the TV version had some profanity you wouldn't expect in a made-for-kids-TV dub) but never released - who knows if that existed and can be hunted down. I'm not sure how much Zero was played with. Fuzors would be a mess because of the changes made for the Japanese broadcast (one episode was completely redone), which was the baseline for the BDs. Genesis is a complete mystery, though those Filipino reports also suggest it was an edited dub. Situations like that are the kind of things that would require someone passionate to work on the home video products. I really doubt Viz would be that company. |

About cyborg 009:it seems Cartoon Network gave it a better treatment in Latin America:it had the same edits by Sony, but they showed all of the episodes(including the final three),sharing Toonami's prime time slot with DBZ and YYH and were re-run a couple of times.

Zoids Zero aired first outside of Toonami, after it was successful, Zoids Chaotic Century/Guardian Force aired, then Zoids Zero aired again but this time on Toonami then we got Zoids Fuzor. So while Zoids Zero was the first to air on Cartoon Network itself, the first to air on Toonami was Zoids Chaotic Century. |

My strongest memory of Chaotic Century was the number of times Toonami played it before finally rolling out the final four episodes.
At least they gave us all four in a special event: |
