Boooooooooo!! Boooooooooo!! We get screwed out of an english dub. Not mondo cool. Not that I particuarly enjoyed GITS2, it would of been alot easier to understand with an english dub, and it would of done better amoung dub fans and not so casual anime viewers.

Well I hope they do this DVD version right. I did enjoy GITS2 in the theater, but the subtitling they used for the US DVD was criminal. The option of an English dub would have also been nice for those times when I want to concentrate on the visuals of the film instead of the dialogue. When I first saw GITS2 I missed out on some of the visual aspects because I was attempting to keep up with the crash course in philosophy that was being given.
Hopefully, this will mean that we'll get a decent DVD version in the US eventually though I'll still be bitter about Dreamworks first attampt. |

Hopefully the english dub will be made available to the US in the near future now. But, it really sucks that we can't watch it now.

My thoughts exactly... this sucks, I'm really dissapointed .
I haven't even seen it yet because I've been waiting for English Dub so I could enjoy both versions, and besides with that whole sub fiasco, I was kind of turned away from buying the original release. |

I really don't think that a dub version is going to increase your understanding of this title any.
A course in philosophy might though! [off topic] The R2 international version came with cool packaging, a metal case just like Appleseed with the theatrical poster picture on it and English subs. |

I don't think any philsophy class teaches "Cyber Punk" ideals and morale. |

I really hope Dreamworks can work something out so Manga Ent. can release the English dub version here in America.

The British dub uses the same cast as on Manga's dub of "Stand Alone Complex", doesn't it?

Yet other reason why more people turn to bootleg copies of anime.

You are correct in saying that, which is why, being from the UK, I will be getting this dvd as soon as its released, as i love the voices for the dub of Stan Alone Complex. |

I'm not sure how much hope I have for seeing that happen . Currently, Dreamworks is being bought/absorbed into Paramount Pictures and I'm not sure where things will go from there. So while I do keep hope for it someday coming out in R1 with the dub, I'm not betting on it ever happening . |

I'm kind of wondering if I should import... I mean, I've never actually done it...
Meaning, I don't know how to DO it I would love to have a dub though PLUS, it seems that the thing is even getting DTS... for BOTH TRACKS ... man, we got the shaftz0rs ALTHOUGH, surprisingly enough, my only real complaint about the R1 release IS the lack of a dub ... Oh, and the friggin' ugly cover-art |
