Funny to see Star Wars mixed in there. But these figures are quite low, well it's true physical media is dying so sales of manga/disks/cd are a fraction of what they used to be.

Sugoi! Oda vs Mega Shinkai. What a battle to end the year. I think we can all accept Mega Shinkai domination being stopped by Oda.

No kidding! It would be foolish not to especially if they want a hit sports anime anime starring a female cast for once.

Let's not forget it's also sol but yeah i agree a majority female cast relating to a sport is long overdue.Yes there have been animes with sports and a female cast but none that are to the level of a good predominantly male anime like Haikyu,Slam dunk and many more.

Interesting list. I've never even heard of The Full-Time Wife Escapist before right now; wonder if we'll get an anime...

That's not the issue. The issue is it doesnt include games or general merchandise. Otherwise stuff like Fate and Pocket Monsters would be much higher.

Number one is One Piece.

Why am I not surprised?

Still, this year it hard a strong rival. Your Name. only has a movie, novel and two volume manga. In contrast One Piece kept releasing a lot of stuff and even made promotions for a volume centered around Sanji (whose story arc still hasn't finished).

I'm really happy to see Yuri on Ice making the Top 10 even though its media output in the second half of the year was very small. The bigger part of the amount registered in this chart came only from 6 DVD/BDs and 2 CDs, so it's awesome that i can compete with mega cross-media franchises. I wonder what they're considering novels, though, since there are no YOI novels unless they're counting guidebooks

Eww Your Name? The thing that nearly beat One Piece was frigging Your Name?

Over-hyped Normie anime series are making it into the top each year. Your name was an atrocious movie that was pretty to look at, and nothing else. The plot god awful, and filled with plot holes. the characters were bland templates, with the exception of the female protagonist, it was too blatant in trying to tug at the heart strings by completely dismissing all logic, and the insert songs were obnoxious. Also Magical Time resets, and a Disney Death. eugh! gross.

It designates which sources the revenue came from primarily, or more than the others. One dot means "got revenue from this" two dots means "got LOTS of revenue from this"
