YES! THANK YOU BANDAI! I was fearing I may miss out on what would be the Budokai killer. Of course this game will hit the USA around the same time or shortly after, but I could always import it earlier too.
Chou DragonBall Z was produced with an arcade-style fighting game in mind, and not just your average DragonBall Z game that attempts to tell the same story we all know already. Being developed by one of Capcom's ex-employee's whom worked on Street Fighter II, I think Chou DragonBall Z may end up being a DBZ fighter that fighting and DBZ fans can come to apperciate.

To be honest, the show still makes a fairly good run now and then, and is far from a dead horse.

Nope, this is a completely new game that was being developed for the arcade. The game is completely cel-shaded, the models are made completely from scratch and aren't just re-used models from Budokai, as are the backgrounds, which look very much like out of the DragonBall Z manga.
From the gameplay video's I've seen the game controls similiar to Rival Schools, being a game with 3D graphics, but 2D gameplay with some 3D elements, and it's very fast at that. You can jump, fly, teleport, dash, dodge, guard, transform, perform various super attacks, counter and engage in hand to hand combat, plus every character has their own unique move list for a change, rather than giving every character the same moves like the Budokai games did.

I am quite interested in how this game will turn out. The Budokai series has had a stranglehold on the Dragon Ball Z license for quite some time and I'm psyched to see a different take.

You could also count DragonBall Z Sparking or "Budokai Tenkaichi" as it was re-titled for it's USA and UK release as another different take on it, but it pretty much just used everything Budokai had, but stripped away the cinematic scenes of the the Budokai fighting engine and gave you total freedom.
Wasnt too bad of an effort though, you could at least counter ultimate attacks for a change with none of this rock paper scissors crap to decide whether it hit or not.

There is this new game on DS called Bukuu-something. It looks a lot like legends but better.

Bukuu Ressen aka "Super Sonic Warriors 2", the sequel to last years Bukuu Tougeki (Super Sonic Warriors) on the GBA. I have it and it is pretty good, it's a worthy successor to Legends title as one of the best DBZ games around. Lots of neat team-up techniques.
SSJ3 Gotenks+Piccolo Volly Ball Play for the win!

That and the games are still a hit, both here and there. Besides, has the horse ever die? No... just retired for alittle while.
