Isn't Yakitate a shonen jump title and would probably fall under the SJ imprint? If it's not, it would probably fall under the action lineup like most shonen titles.

Signature series, I think will be geared more towards the seinen demographic, much like the Editor's Choice lineup.

Buso Rukin too, would likely follow after Kenshin and be under the SJ imprint.

Well, its not possible for them to confirm licenses since Viz doesn't acquire licenses anymore.

They just look at the vast library of titles that they have access to and decide what to release in North America next...

Monster was originally supposed to be out last December, then March, then October, then November, now February.... Viz really needs to start getting their act together. I found it strange that they changed the date of Monster's release from November because it was published in a little viz advertisement magazine that we had at work (Borders Books) that it was coming out in November and they even had a preview of a few pages. Well, the sooner Monster comes out the sooner we'll get 20th Century Boys, I'm just getting sick of this since I've been waiting so long for Monster.

I can only pray that this means they're making sure that the manga is well refined, and is a qulity piece of translation they're putting out...

I'm "hoping", anyways.

Unless of course they get inspired to licence something by Kodansha again, which is doubtful considering Del Rey is now in the industry.
I'm still finding it odd that they decided to replace Editor's Choice with this (unless Signature is just an imprint of "classic" titles). Hopefully they'll put out some stuff from Monthly Ikki.

Who owns Viz?
Apprently this company publishes Shonen Jump in America and
has many Shueisha titles.

So if Viz is owned by Shueisha, I can understand they don't have much motivation to sell Shogakukan's titles.

I also think Urasawa did mistake for stepping in release order in America.
It caused loooong wait to for releasing 20CB which he thought progressed from Monster.
And if they follow his logic, his previous works Happy, Master Keaton, Yawara and Pinnapple Army will be never released.

(More exactly said, late 1/3 part of Monster was simultaneously relesed to early part of 20CB in Japan.
Actually very end part of Monster was out AFTER very early part of 20CB.)

In European countries, his works has been released in random order and seemed much more accepted than America.

Viz is and always was a substitutiary of Shogakukan. The reason they've been able to publish so many Shueisha titles over the past few years is because those two companies recently merged. The ownership of the manga has nothing to do with Viz's motivation to release it.

Pretty much as most people thought. Should be interesting to see what those other titles are. Right now it's only super popular adult titles. Hopefully they won't ignore things that aren't ultra-conventional.

Signature eh? Maybe these manga books will be devoid of the problems like poor bindings, cheap materials, and miss-cut pages(or it could just be that they cropped the pages incorrectly) that are so prevelant in VIZ's other product lines.
