The title is NOT YURI. Whomever has informed you of this is mistaken.

Does that make it Yuri? Or studioplugnplay correct? It if it isn't Yuri why would that person say it was??? Yuri isn't that hard of a term to understand...then again there's still people who don't know the difference between manga and anime.

That means that the publisher is calling it Yuri. I'm not actually familiar with the manga in question, so I'm going by the publisher's chosen label for now.

Sometimes I make a point of making it clear which titles are hard Yaoi and which are BL, this might be the same kind of instance, perhaps studioplugnplay could expand on this ?

DMP has contacted me and corrected their statement, DoR is Shoujo, but "Yuri-ish"

On we reported that Day of Revolution was yuri.

I'm pretty sure there is some relevant information that was missed here.

I wish people and companies would use the proper terms of shojo-ai and shonen-ai instead of yuri and yaoi. Yuri and yaoi is for pornographic and sexuallly explicit work.

Though this title might not even be shojo-ai, but even just shojo-ai-ish.

There are thousands of reasons for them to desire to throw that title around, most of them good, it's just that, quite simply, there is almost nothing yuri in this manga, it's only two volumes long, they barely have the time to establish characters-proper before the series is already over and spun off into another work, Princess Princess.
The fact of the matter is, when you work in a purely fan driven community, terms start getting thrown around so that you can get people to catch the new thing, as if, recent years haven't already indicated, the market in Japan is flooded, and companies have to pick and choose what to stake their overseas licensing money on. What they saw in Kakumei no Hi was a short, easy venture into the yuri community, to get people interested and so forth. Now, however, they're stuck with a title that isn't yuri, but will probably publish it anyway, as the original announcement is going to be the only one about this series with any real steam, and what's lost on a 2-volume series, anyway?
I'm afraid, as usual, "stuff happens," at least in this case, it happened to a halfway decent series, even considering the brevity the series touches on some interesting points, albeit relatively retreaded one's...
Or I'm just ranting, whichever.
...
G'night folks.

Yeah, except that these are not the proper terms. The term "shounen ai" used to refer to classical shoujo manga dealing with male x male situations, but nowadays it refers to shota stuff (= with little boys). The term "shoujo ai" doesn't even exist, at least in Japan. "Yaoi" is used for male x male fanworks (in fact, it implies that the art and the story is amateurish, which is the reason I think "yaoi-manga.com" is rather embarrassing - DMP could've done a bit of research), and "yuri" is manga/anime/etc dealing with female x female stuff of any kind and of any level of explicitness.
