Yeah, when it comes to Jouji "George" Nakata-san, he's really the fun and easy-going man even in his 60's, and he's really passionate about his work as seiyuu. Also he's really active for his years, going for anime events here and there, cosplaying, and posting all about it on his Twitter, sometimes answering even his international fans. Really awesome man.

Like a lot of people, I fist took notice of Nakata as a voice actor when he played Folken in Escaflowne, but after looking him up, what really surprised me was finding out he played Sir Cowler in Choushinsei Flashman, which was one of my favorite tokusatsu shows growing up. He's always been great at playing cool, complex villains even before becoming a seiyuu.

Jouji Nakata is one of my all-time favorite voice actors. I first heard him in Fate/Stay Night as Kotomine Kirei and I've been a fan ever since. This was a cool interview, and I think the point he brought up about the differences between how lines for anime are recorded in Japan compared to elsewhere was really eye-opening.

He even got to be the main villain for a later Super Sentai series, Choujuu Sentai Liveman. Just imagine if that have been the one adapted for Power Rangers... But yeah, Nakata-san seems like a really cool guy and has great range and depth in his acting (His very best role being The Count of Monte Cristo, followed by Folken and Alucard.) Shame though that he couldn't have been the narrator for a better Gundam than Victory. |

Folken in Escaflowne was my debut role for him. Though his role as Alucard in Hellsing is his signature role for me

This was interesting to read as he is my favourite male Seiyuu. Disappointed that they didn't ask him about Type Moon stuff or Hellsing. My Favourite Role of his has to be Kirei Kotomine.

I have to agree with what interviewer and Nakata said. I'm not here to bash dubs and I'm trying to be open-minded on dubs, but I wonder it's the lack of interaction between actors affects the quality of dubs. Maybe Dub fans can explain why is it like that in the West. |
