Mmmm, Zombie Powder- that series that not only starts better but seemingly had much more potential and many more likable characters than his somewhat lackluster Bleach. It's really a shame the series just stops, being I would have been much happier if ZP was the title to be pushing 20+ volumes right now and Bleach was the one cut at 4. I'll support the title regardless, but I wonder what the chances of Tite Kubo someday continuing Zombie Powder are?
Anyways, that aside, yay for Yakitate Japan! As for everything else. Busou Renkin I've no interest in solely based on the fact that Nobuhiro Watsuki wrote it and it makes me think it'll be one of those more romantic shounen adventure titles, a quality I've never been fond of. Skip Beat and Beauty pop I'm pretty sure are shoujo, so I won't be giving them so much as a second glance. Law of Ueki's anime seemed mildly entertaining so I may give the manga a chance. And, as for The Drifting Classroom, I've never heard of it, so I don't know if I care or not yet.
I must say though, I'm actually surpised that there're no signs of Gantz getting licensed anytime soon, and yet they chose to bring over a more obscure title like Yakitate Japan. Not that I'm complaining (Although I'd love to see Gantz licensed), it's just kind of interesting.....

Whoa. Skip Beat and Beauty Pop. O_O I really can't wait. So many people like those too. I think.

mana: Judging by the ANN summary, Buso Renkin looks like a Beet knock-off to me, while Zombie Powder reminds me of Saiyuki...
Nothing really noteworthy IMHO...

Don't know. Compared to Kenshin, it's a lot less 'romantic', probably largely due to the main character being quite different from Kenshin. He's not burdened by some complx backstory, as he is still young and inexperienced, he's also generally more outgoing. Then there is the humour, which often borders on the bizarre, and further helps to make Busou Renkin something QUITE different.
Even if you did not like Kenshin, give Busou Renkin a chance. It's a new manga, going into a new direction. I cannot guarantee it, but I do have the feeling that that which you dislike about Kenshin may be missing in Buren. Give it a chance~

Both are pretty weak from what I've read (especially BR).
Great to see Drifting Classroom licenced. We'll be getting a double dose of Umezu in 2006.

Zombie Powder could've been really great if it didn't get cancelled after only 4 volumes... here's hoping KT picks it up again when Bleach is finished and world-famous
Yakitate!! Japan, well, about damn time it got licensed
even Spain, France and Germany already licensed it
and its one of the best comedy/shounen titles out there

YES! YAKITATE!!
now my friends will know what i'm talking about..
i wonder how they'll translate the punny jokes (either americanized jokes or a long editor's notes)
i have a question, does anyone know if it will be included in the Shonen Jump line? (not just the magazine, i mean the tackey symbols they put on the spines)

Yakitate is serialized in Shonen Sunday in Japan
so that most likely means it'll end up in their Action line-up
Zombie Powder however was a Shonen Jump series in Japan, and thus will be put in Viz' SJ(A) line-up

Well at least they're not just ignoring amazon's inaccurate listings like they used to...
Still, can't imagine them not picking up anything with Watsuki's name on it.
