I'm not surprised this was coming. Really hope it will be better than Tokyo Ghoul Root.

They can even make this into 24 episodes if time allows.

So will this be a proper Re; adaptation or will it continue from the atrocity that was Root A. This is good news i guess but a reboot would have been better. Sad

My question is how they're even capable of adapting this, given the fact that they cut out so much content in the last season that was essential to this one. Are they just gonna ignore Root A and just adapt the manga for what it is?

HOW? You can't continue into RE from the atrocity that was Root. There's too much missing. So they either ignore Root or made another terrible apaptation trying to follow it.

Omg!! Yes!! Yes yes!! I love Re!! I get to see more Juuzo again!! I am so punped!! Womder how they r going to follow up after the tradegy that was Root. I mean, so much material was cut out for that season. I guess they r just going to ignore it's existence!! But :Re is so much better! I hope they adapt all the material!! 2018 is the year for Anime!

This is pure speculation, but Blue Exorcist Kyoto Arc set a precedent for 'rewinding' an anime back to where it diverged from the source manga and starting again fresh from that point. So one option would be to present this as a direct sequel to the first Ghoul anime season, carrying on from its last episode, and ignore Root A.

Kuroshitsuji did that as well. Honestly, given how hard it would be to set up :Re from Root A, I'd say that they will probably do that.

Please imagine this -

All in one season:
Attack on Titan S3
My Hero Academia S3
A Certain Magical Index S3
Sword Art Online S3
Code Geass S3: Revival of Lelouch
Tokyo Ghoul: Re

(+Other sequels: FLCL 2 & 3, Encouragement of Climb S3, B-Project S2, Saiki Kusou S2, Full Metal Panic IV)

Doubt this will actually happen, but still!

Yeah, I imagine that's what they're planning to do. Still though, there are essential things that weren't covered in the anime at all (like Tsukiyama's character development), and I doubt that they'll take the time and effort to cover it in the :Re anime so even ignoring Root A there's still gonna be some plot/character problems.

I feel bad for the fans. I actually sat down and read the original Ghoul manga and it was a fun and decent read. This is going to be another disaster most likely.

Well, third time's a charm, eh ANN? You finally reported the news about season 3 correctly this time, when it's actually happening.
