Lust cards selling for $91? Aren't they like 10,000 of them printed in Volume 3 of the Manga?

I honestly don't understand the appeal to any card games.

Well, considering his car goes for $20,000, I'm not too surprised.
Seriously, though, how long will it take for it to reach Charizard status? |

Ugh, I only know that too well. Although I did think playing the Pokemon tcg was fun, it wasn't worth even close to the amount of money I spent on it. |

Note that, like many other games, there are more than one card for each character-The Lust in the manga one sucks (IMO), while the one found in the booster packs is a rare chase card. There are other details, but that'd complicate things for people who don't play the TCG. Roy Mustang, Master Manipulator's rarity isn't the only reason it sells for so much. It's a chase exclusive-Chase cards are found 1 in every 30 packs (1 per box according to the odds), and that particular card is available only in Chase form. And I think there are over 20 or 30 chase cards in the base set. It's ability is the other reson it sells for so much-It is a game-winning card. Decks based around him have a very high chance of OWNING the game. With that said, I want one.... |

I enjoyed the card gams back with Pokemon . It's basically like poker to me except "normally" without betting and more strategies and rules involved. It can be pretty fun playing card games if you have the time and aren't just on a computer or gameing system it's something that helps past the time. When I was in school I used to play at lunch time because I never ate lunch so playing was a good way of wasting that 40 mins of nothing. Even more fun when you do have some stakes involved like playing for another card....makes it much more interesting. But I got out of playing somewhere in the middle of yu gi oh. sorry if I spelled it wrong. |

Actually this is nothing. Last December the English print of Cyber Stein (EXTREMELY RARE) was won at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Shonen Jump Championships, then sold on eBay for . . . you ready? spoiler[$23,1000].
Check, please. |

Was that supposed to be spoiler[ $23,100 or $231,000], if it is the second then I am in totally utter disbelief. Of course either way, that is absolutely unbelievable. |

Alright. First- prove it.
Second. This helps me prove my thought that all card games like this are retarded in that the only requirement to be a good player is to have a steady amount of cash. |

I looked into it and it was sold for 23,000.
The website is http://www.kidzworld.com/site/p5147.htm Also, I don't think card games are retarded by any means it's all in good fun. Same as playing chess, checkers, or even football. I do believe I've seen football jerseys get sold for same amount as that card was, except the difference is you can't or normally won't play with the jersey. These card game require strategy unlike poker where it's 90% luck of the cards then 10% of how smart you are of what to get rid of and keep, and how long do you want to stay in, these card games require a little more strategy and is in my opinion 60% strategy 40% luck of what is actually dealt to yourself. |

100% agree with you on this, card games aren't stupid and do indeed require a lot of stratgy and intelligence to play. But above all I think the most important thing is to have fun playing them, which I certainly did with my experience in the tcg world. |
