I like the Unicorn Gundam (can't say the same for the OVA), but I wish they had opted to build something else like Wing Zero Custom or the Strike.

It's the current flavor of Gundam so I can see why they chose to build it. Personally I would have preferred them to either do Zeta Gundam since it was the next series or Nu-Gundam as it was Amuro's last Gundam.

Either way I'm going to see this as one of my first stops when I go back to Japan this December.

Well, I hope you enjoy it. As for me, I've personally become too cynical since the stuff I like in any franchise is never at the forefront of attention when big things happen. Wing Gundams, or any past AU actually, is completely ignored. And once IBO's novelty dies down it will be shelved with Wing, X and other AU's and the next series takes the spotlight for a short time while some other project milking UC is ongoing on the side. It's the same with the model kits, I even stopped collecting them because of the painfully slow release rates and constant rereleases of older (UC) ones hogging up the dates.

I bet in the next 2 years we will have MG rereleases of RX-78-2 (even though we have 7 different versions already) and Zaku personalized by specific characters instead of finally getting the long overdue Calamity or AGE-FX because apparently the fans want something they already own. The MG SEED line should have been finished years ago but just earlier this year the Justice and Providence were finally released. Good job, Bandai, it only took you 14 years. BUT there are still more CE Gundams still not having MG or even NG 1/100 releases.

Oh expect a MG RX-78-2 Origin kit using the 3.0 tech when the remake of MSG get announced around the 40th anniversary. I was hoping that with the finishing up of IBO we would have gotten some MG version since I've never been a fan of just NG 1/100's. I was also hoping even though it was a pipe dream for a PG BBQ Lupus announcement by now. I wasn't too pleased with the fact my all time favorite unit the Efreet Kai only got a Re 100. Bandai/Sunrise is just a big pile of mistakes these days for Gundam. Crossbone has always been at the top for "what gundam series should be animated" lists, but instead we got a 5 minute commercial series for Twilight Axis.

They probably wanted to impress everyone with a suite that transforms so instead of going with the Zeta, which would have been much harder, they went with the easier yet still incredibly popular Unicorn.

It's not just AUs. If a UC related show isn't about Zeon vr. Federation then it also gets the shaft.
