MAPPA has quite a bit of projects now. At least 3 anime airing just for Fall alone.
The PV looks great. I'm hyped for this.

Well, it's not like it got the same number in this summer with Kakegurui, Altair and Bahamut 2nd cour.

With few projects, they can give their all. And it will be a treat for me particularly, as it will be the first time I see a Korean director in a Japanese work. I'm sure this director will bring some outstanding artists. Because it is an original, good studios like MAPPA do something with certainty.

This series feels like something that should've came out in 2007-2009.
Sounds interesting. Will be paying attention to it.

Sounds really cool and that trailer looked gorgeous with really cool designs and style.
That poster image looks awesome.
Totally in for a MAPPA anime original.

It also feels like it has that international flavor with the names and place names and stylish designs of something like what Gonzo used to do at their height. I love it.

The bit at the start with the bike and the metal bar hitting the ground reminds me of the best part of Akira.

It looks nice, but that lead writer credit got me extremely wary.
Sometimes it'd actually be better not to know who's in charge of what in a series.

No lie, that PV was pretty cool.
Quote: | The anime's story is set in a prosperous city named Russell City. Even as the city celebrates its success, a conspiracy that threatens to shake its world has been set in motion. A man named Sword is the first to hear the earliest stirrings of the plot, and throws himself into a shadow war in order to expose it. His only clue is the keyword "El Dorado." He meets Sophie, a woman searching for her older brother who left her with only a message with the same word: "El Dorado." With Sword having also lost his younger sister in the past, both are drawn together by the word, and work together to find out its meaning. |
... and that's all that's cool.
Wow, he's missing a younger sister, she's missing an older brother, what are the odds...
Is this one of those stories that's set in just the City for a reason?
Keyword... codeword... password?
"Original anime" in theory at least.

Original means that it is not adapted or base do any existing work, ie Manga, Light Novel, Video Game etc.

I love this music. It is amazing how much a good PV song can bulk up the possibilities and encourage expectations for a new series. This is one I am going to keep an eye on. Of course, with every new season and at least ten different shows to choose from, it is a little overwhelming trying to keep track of everything.
I wish there we more hours in a day for anime.

It's pretty impressive visually and being an original work typically leads to better and more active discussions. However, I suspect it might put so much effort into the whole neo-noir vibe that other areas suffer tremendously. Hopefully by setting my expectations accordingly I'll end up being pleasantly surprised, because the preview certainly succeeds at making it look interesting.

Now THIS is the kind of stuff that made me an anime fan in the first place and it's been sorely missing in the anime landscape in the last 10 years or so. As someone mentioned before , this gives strong Gonzo circa 2007 vibes and I couldn't be happier for it. Really , all I can say is bless you MAPPA.
