Please be an anime, come on, it is about otaku after all! It's most likely some sort of a Live action adaptation, but maybe it's a package announcement that has both a live action adaptation and an anime(one can only hope).

Most likely this is getting an English print. It would be weird if an anime came out before everyone even knows what this is. If that's the case, I'm gonna stop reading it online and wait for the manga.

^Maybe it will get an English print, but that won't be *this* announcement. This event is for Japanese fans.

Hope it's an anime--more anime about otaku, and adult ones at that! Like that it seems balanced with both male and female otaku (anyone else think Genshiken was unbalanced, focusing too much on male otaku in part one, and female otaku & fujoshi in part 2? And don't get me started on The Big Bang Theory, where not even the nerdy STEM ladies are interested in geeky pop culture. I'd love for that show to get a fujoshi. Or at least a female fan of American geek pop culture--who writes slash fanfiction) Wink

I think it's more likely to be an anime/live-action series/movie. Especially since "big announcements" are usually those. Besides an English comic book company would've announced that they got the rights to license without hiding it as a "big announcement"

Have only seen online chatter about this series, so I'm hoping it is an anime...which then leads to someone licensing the manga. Laughing

I'm hoping it gets an anime. I liked what I've read of this.
