After hearing about the film from someone who was at the pre-screening premiere 3 days ago, I no longer care about this film.
No spoilers hear, but don't expect much from this film..

If you know something I wouldn't mind knowing how they work this as a retelling and also something completely different.

Can you give the basic run down of what they said without spoilers? Like if it was rushed or if the new characters were interesting?

Maybe this is the the old person in me, but the lack of Brock or Misty and addition of new people rather turns me off. It would be fun to see the first episodes remastered with all the updated animation - but the story looks like it changed too much.

I love Brock and Misty but as long as they make the new characters interesting, I'm fine with having new characters because this is supposed to be about Ash and Pikachu's journey to find Ho-Oh, not a complete retelling of the Kanto story. If you want to see an updated take on Brock, they already did that with the Pokemon Origins OVAs.
