So friggin annoying. I was looking forward to this one, too. Get rid of the double paywall, amazon.

It's starting to look like Amazon Strike is going to be Sentai's streaming platform of choice...
C'mon Sentai, Hulu exclusives were one thing, but not one, but two paywalls? Not cool.

All of us should have already known this was coming. Still im surprised at how many potentially big titles Sentai managed to snag this go around

It's what happens when your choices are limited. Something had to be created to balance against the Crunchyroll / Funimation partnership, so we get Amazon / Sentai, and it costs way more than it should to see the streams, but that is where some really good properties end up because they have money to spend.
Amazon's handling of the "Free with Prime" to "Double Paywall" is botched. Anime Strike-Out should have remained Prime, like it is in the rest of Amazon's service territories outside the U.S., and something that could be sold separately to non-Prime customers. Total SNAFU in the classic sense of the acronym.

Hulu's ad-free option costs nearly as much as both Prime and Anime Strike combined (143.88 vs 159 annually). And if you are a Prime subscriber (and use it for more than streaming), even the limited commercials option for Hulu costs more than Anime Strike. I'm not saying Anime Strike as a subscription on top of Prime is wise or desirable, just noting Hulu is not much better and worse, price and commercials wise, if you actually use your Prime subscription outside of streaming anime.

Yeah, the writing had been in the wall for a while, if you are honestly surprised a streaming service gets a "exclusive series premiere" then it is time for the rude wake up call.
Unless the service completely fails (which would be a BAD thing) expect this to become a regular occurrence where a number of your streams are on a service you simply don't subscribe into for legal viewing.

I'm dying over here...
Really, though, if Amazon made Anime Strike available for non-Prime users, I'd subscribe in a heartbeat because they're definitely getting enough exclusives to justify my purchase now. If they want to charge a fee for the service, then let those without Prime pay for it. But there's no reason to add an additional fee to those already paying for Prime, and it's ridiculous to keep everyone else behind a double paywall. I'll pay you for anime, but not for something else I don't even want.

And another show lots of folks will watch illegally Crunchyroll needs to step their game up before Sentai touches any of the most promising shows of the season (especially during the Summer and the Fall).

Except Hulu's subtitles are awesome whereas Anime Strike (so far) have been shit. Plus I can't tell you how much I hate hard CC subs. Especially when they don't have a windowsless white-text with black border option... Just more icing on the double paywall cake.
