Who asked for that?

It's a fast pace system now. Hell, Disney has a tendency to renew shows before they even air. New Ducktales already has a season 2, and Star Vs got a season 4 the day season 2 ended.
Personally, 3 movies is enough. There's only so much rehashing they can do.
Though, I will be honest, setting up a green with evil movie would be greeeeat

That's quite a bold path Saban is taking with a movie project this big. Hopefully the result turns out great...or at least decent.

I'm sorry, can a person die of laughter?
On a more positive note, it would be cool to see these Power Rangers crossover with the ones from the original continuity. That would be a cool idea for a future movie.
Also, this is my 800th post. Yay me!

I would personally like the other Power Rangers movies to go beyond the Mighty Morphin series especially since their are so many other great PR series out there like In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed, Time Force etc.

Based on early tracking and audience reaction, it looks like Saban and Lionsgate will get their wish.
But having just come back from seeing it, I really didn't like it. I won't get into specifics for the sake of spoilers but I will say that it wasn't what I know the franchise to be where it matters. So they didn't "get it right" the first time, but I appear to be in the minority.

The first one seems to be on pace to do well. I'm not convinced future entries won't collapse, though. Would be interesting if in Lionsgate's furor to start a franchise with annual releases that they find themselves midway through production on a sequel to a film that just flopped. Like what happened with the Detergent series.

Ohh, don't do this to yourselves, guys, we already KNOW how this is going to turn out!
We already read next Monday's box-office reports!
(What, did they actually think there were going to be more than two hits in March, now that Kong moved on and all the Beauty&Beast fangirls are back in school again?)

Old saying: NEVER greenlight a sequel on Monday morning or Friday afternoon...Your franchise may live to regret it, but not too long afterwards.

6-movie arc, huh. That rather ambitious though I could see them incorporating stuff from Zeo, Turbo and In Space to culminate the "Zordon era."

Counting their chickens much? I guess they might have better chances of franchising it than Divergent, but I doubt there's much more demand for Power Rangers. Certainly not enough for six films, at least. Unless the last 3-4 are DTV.

I can only admire your optimism to this end. My fear is that a six-film series will prove to be at least seven films too many.
Considering how much they associated Rita with gold, I'm genuinely surprised she didn't have the shield when she was the Green Ranger
Sounds like the new Transformers then. Nothing like the source material, but will appeal to those who aren't fans of the franchise.
