Considering that KumaMiko is about girl x bear, I am guessing that this new manga will be about girl x dog. Or maybe something about histories and time-traveling.

After the horrendous ending to the Kuma miko anime series I'll probably be giving this one a wide berth.

Did the manga end the same way? Did it end at all? (Well, in that it came up with an ending rather than just..... stopping.)

The manga is still running. The anime ending has nothing to do with the mangaka, either (he didn't decide or endorse it). So I don't see any reason to avoid his works.

The mangaka hated the anime ending too. The anime's ending is no reason to avoid the mangaka's work.

Really ? Breaking the squeeky and leaving her emotionally scarred sounds pretty bad to me.

As other have pointed out the mangaka didn't endorse the anime ending so I'm willing to cut some slack in his future endevours, but it does go to show how much a bad anime can poison things.
