Now if only they'd confirm when Destiny will be airing in Canada, especially since the original series is now airing on weeknights.

I guess there's no ZZ announcement, then? Sad

Since Mai-HiME is a Sunrise title, I really figured that it'll go to Bandai.

Bandai was the only choice for Mai-HiME! Very Happy

Anyway, I kind of figured they got the license for it; they just waited for the right moment to officially announce it.

That's what I thought too, my friend! Wink

I would imagine sometime in the fall we'll see the first volume, right?

Well, that's it! Smile Surprised You knew it was coming but as to who would do it that was the question. I knew someone was "watching" it.

Well, actually I'm glad that 'Bandai' grabbed it considering their close ties. If it had been 'ADVfilms', it would have taken them forever to get it out. Considering that they already have 'MADLAX' and anything else. Hell, they licensed 'Kurau Phantom Memory' last year. Even before the fansubs could even start, and they still haven't released that title yet. Oh, and let's not forget Godannar Mad

Besides whoever was going to license it wanted that "hit" for themselves. 'ADVfilms' already has enough hits already. Rolling Eyes

Now, I hope that the folks at 'Bandai' will do a good job with the translations and will get the names right. Plus, include all the "omake" segments too.

Well, for the person on that "blog" that wanted someone to hurry up and license this show or they would end up broke if they went on ahead and bought the import versions can now die happy.

Wait if they die then they won't be able to enjoy this show about friends, love, confusion and most of all "cheesy" goodness! Laughing

Oh, and some spoiler[Shizuru X Natsuki love by the fire]. Time to get those fanfics rolling. Twisted Evil Wink

I CAN'T WAIT!!! Very Happy Cool

The day Bandai doesn't get the license for a Gundam series is the day that hell freezes over, the day the world will end, and the day I'll eat my hat. (Did I get enough cliches in there?)

Ah, I can't wait for the R1 Mai-HiME release, that'll definently warrant a pickup, however, with the Destiny thing it's a shame all they did was restate they have the licence, 'cause a time frame for the DVD release would've been a lot better ;p

The SEED Destiny License is really old-and disappointing-news. What's the point of getting a Licenese you can't do anything with for AT LEAST 3 months?

And I wonder if Layzner will get a second chance.

I meant not that a Gundam series is necessarily licensed, but rather if a Gundam series is somehow licensed by a company other than Bandai.

THey probably grabbed it early so that they could go on and start work on the english release, so that they'll be READY to release DVDs once the series ends.

I suspect that we won't start seeing GSD being released on DVD until after GSD finishes airing in Japan. So, around September and October is when I think we'll hear a definitive on GSD DVD release dates.
