Whoa, cool! I'd given up on thinking that anyone would ever remember this show existed. One of the cutest shows to ever come out of the moe boom, to be sure. Thanks Daisuki!

I really like how Daisuki is coming out with a lot of older anime. I just have one problem, it is just exclusive and for a month too.
Personally I do wish they could get the shows longer. If they had it for two months instead of one, then the free users could wait a month to see it, so it is not to the people who buy their memberships.
Right now it is the only reason to really buy it, but still, kind of stinks how it is a limited time more than anything.

Mahoraba is quite a cute series that has a rather dark flavor to it despite all the apparent cuteness. The manga in particular I remember having a very stark contrast of cute characters and humor mixed with suicide attempts and homelessness (one character has a rather fond appreciation for cardboard boxes for instance)

That said, I do believe the anime toned down the suicide attempts though I haven't seen it in 10 years, so it's rather hazy. What really impressed me when I watched it was Satomi Arai's performance. She voices lead female Aoba and her 4-5 alternate personalities, each given a very distinct voice. Too bad that she would get pigeonholed into 'Kuroko-voice' roles for the majority of her career. In this show she really displayed the wide range of her talent.

This was my favorite show form the Winter '05 season. I never finished it, though.

A great series, absolutely, but it only ever made it through the first half of the manga so when I saw the series, I could only watch it as "Will they do this, this and this?" and they only ever got to the first "this". Sure, it was a good "this" but since they never painted the character as pathetic as the manga did... yes, I'm not saying "sympathetic" as this is not that kind of series; The characters are all losers and they know it... the story doesn't come off as earned or meaningful.

However, being streamed for a single month isn't a touch on being actually licensed. Good attempt though.

I'm not a paid member, so I cant see the legal steam, but I am SO happy this is getting attention again.

I remember seeing this in '05 and falling really hard for it. It's a perfect companion anime for people who are fans of shows like Fruits Basket and Natsume's Book of Friends. Each character gets an awesome story arc, and though they lighten up Kozue's dark past, it's still pretty sad in the anime. It's a wonderful story about love friendship and family. This show is honestly the last series that I still keep hold of fansubs for. I'm hoping we'll eventually see a dvd release here in the future.

Where has it been said that it will only be streaming for a month? I'm pretty sure the "in November" mention in the article is just when it was added to Daisuki.

Yeah, I'm really hoping for this too.

@904thehero1: Blame the blasted licensing stipulations. If it was public domain already, then they could keep it longer.
