about time, Can they also remedy their peeling/tilted art box for this like what happened with psycho pass? Along with their KS screw up for wrong colored cases, late delivery and jokes towards UK customers requesting em to charge funi 1 million pounds?

Finally a response, especially after before they kept telling people on Twitter and in emails "No, it's actually stereo." That video linked was one of two that were made (the second was by the person who first reported the issue).

Well at least something will be done about this and we won't have another Spice & Wolf II. That never got fixed.

BTW, it's the English audio of Code Geass season 2 that is affected, not the Japanese audio.

Also I see the crooked artbox issue still hasn't been addressed.Sad

Damn I was just about to get Code Geass R2 on Blu-Ray since I've already got the first series. Should I wait?

I am amused that, despite the problems, they're still peddling Code Geass wallpaper ads on this site.

Yeah, you should wait, I'm unsure how many copies of Code Geass R2 have this problem. Yes, I am ReViewMeMedia, and I figured sending Anime News Network this story might actaully get a response out of Funimation. It worked.

It should probably also be noted this is after they sent emails + Tweets telling customers that the audio was a stereo and not Mono.

For context on these:

They also advertised clear cases for the Escaflowne Collector's Edition, but the retail CE ended up with blue cases instead. The Kickstarter CE ended up having the clear cases.

Since their initial claims via customer service replies were that there was no problem, it's obviously unlikely they caught it themselves at any time during mass production. Ergo, because the problem (as has been the case every time a company has screwed up the audio) occurred during authoring, and at no point did they stop production to fix it, that means every single copy out there is affected.

So what is the easiest way to test if my disc has this problem? I'm not exactly an audiophile, so i'm not sure if I could tell the difference by listening. But I would still like to know if my R2 discs are messed up or not.

ANN has a format for writing press releases to send to the site so I used the format to send them the story.

Although waiting could also come back to bite people in the butt, since the Code Geass Collector's Edition is out of print now and quickly becoming unobtainable from most retailers. Unless Funimation is going to fix the Stereo issue and then reprint the Collector's Edition with it...?

I am content with my CE. Based on my watching experience the dub audio issues in the R2 discs are real, but the people who first reported it are exaggerating a bit. I am not moving a finger to try to exchange my product, but it would be nice if Funimation automatically sends me corrected discs like other companies have done.

I am more interested in learning how Funimation screwed up in one of their biggest titles.
