This reminds me of
Some might remember this when it was put as a evolutionary speculation that this species might have looked like today, because it was determined it had the largest brain of the lot at that time seemingly forgetting that us homo sapiens evolved this way only maybe 200,000 years ago where as those reptiles took many hundreds of million years where they hardly changed at all. Indeed one side of the on going debate says if it wasn't for that asteroid this planet would still be the same as before it hit with maybe new species evolving as the continents drifted apart, but basically the same looking stereotypical dinosaur. Besides when you eat any fowl you're basically eating a raptor, which is what a T-Rex was, as that's what the smaller survivors became. Therefore this manga for me is a bit of a stretch too far. Wink

I totally forgot this was getting an English release. Anime catgrin + sweatdrop

While I'm still very sceptical about the chick being half-dinosaur, I'm very curious as to how well it goes. This will be my first four-koma manga, I'll shall be glad to own this on my shelf.

Besides, any monster girl related item that isn't like Monster Musume is fine by me.

Seven Seas is also releasing the first volume of Monster Girl Encyclopedia this month, which turned out to be a bit too adult for a review, but is pretty interesting. It's a beautiful hardcover with 100 different monster girl portraits...and detailed information about how they prefer to have sex and some illustrations of it. (And troublingly outdated notions of human female sexuality.) But it's totally divorced from Monster Musume and kind of interesting.

Quote:
“girlfriend” in the title is misleading
The original title of the manga is "T-Rex na Kanojo", where "kanojo" can be a completely aromantic mention(eg, one scanlation site translates it as "She's a T-Rex"). I'm guessing whoever did the title wasn't exactly putting much thought into it.

ah i saw that very same book at my local chapters and my first though was "ooh pretty" and "ooh hardcover" in that order. It was a bit pricey for me especially since its just a collection of interesting fictitious 'facts' on monsters with provocative art(difinitely consider it if it gets discounted online or something).

Bollox. It's just named appropriate to the native language of the speaker. Kanojo does indeed mean girlfriend, or she. The title in kanji is "T-REX な彼女" (T-Rex na kanojo) which literally is T-REX isn't she! ("na" being a particle of negative imperative, like "cute, isn't she!)

Luckily this is a short series. I decided to get it for the collection just for something fun and different. You have to admit it's an interesting title. The monster girl genre is pretty interesting. I wonder when we'll get some monster guy books. Mr. Tanuki anyone? LOL!!

I will check out this book when it's released. Or should I say when we get it in.

I often wondered that myself. Or having both monster girl and monster boy in the same manga/anime. Maybe they think people wouldn't be interested in male monsters. Don't understand why. Demon, werewolf, vampire, swamp men probably sounds intimidating to the general audiences. Rolling Eyes

Except there is already a plethora of "handsome monster guys", some just having beastly aspects and others outright wicked beasts in human guise.
Unless of course I just missed the joke, then eggs on my face.
