Well that sucks. Guess I won't be able to watch this series until it's released on home media unless crunchy roll can stream it also.

Wooo! I hope this streams on Crunchyroll. I think it would be in their best interests to keep an amicable relationship with CR if possible.

Well, looks like Sentai is doing their best to pick up the most good titles possible this time.

dw yall, sentai filmworks titles basically automatically get streamed by crunchyroll, same with aniplex titles. the fact sentai got to announce these two first is probably just some legal stuff

Not anymore they don't! The past few season, a bunch of Sentai shows were shown on Hulu and (ugh!) The Anime Network, but not Crunchyroll. With CrunchyFun a thing now, it's even more likely that Sentai will try to keep their shows from Crunchy's clutches. The problem is, nobody watches shows on Hulu or The Anime Network. Remember Norn9? Neither does anyone else.

I wouldn't say nobody watches Hulu. Sentai put shows there because there got more views and money than they did from Crunchyroll. But with the ad supported tier gone, it's a lot harder to get shows on Hulu and you don't get as much money as in the past. Hulu has at least 10 times the number of subscribers that CR does, even though the majority didn't subscribe for anime. Chivalry of a Failed Night did fine on Hulu, and I don't know that Norn9 would have done much better regardless of where it streamed.

In the past, when a Sentai show was going exclusively to Hulu or TAN, or premiering on one of those and then having a delay-cast elsewhere, they usually detailed that right away. When it was streaming on CR, they usually only mentioned "digital outlets" like this PR did. So it's really hard to say right now. I'm guessing there will be a follow up announcement soon.
