I'm confused at the timeline lol. But I guess it doesn't really matter. I really really loved this franchise. One of the main ones that got me into anime back in 2004 after seeing Read or Die on TechTV's Anime Unleashed. I don't even really know what to say by this..I'm so shocked lol. I'm excited. I love this so much. I love Yomiko. She was so fun. Though, Anita (whom I guess was actually from Read or Dream), was my first waifu.

edit: If only Aniplex would release an affordable Bluray set....No limited edition crap, just the shows. All I'm finding is used copies of the LE they released for 340 dollars...and ANiplex's own page says they're sold out anyway

That was my initial thought, too. I never got around to watching the old TV series, but always loved the OVA and a new anime would be a nice way for it to go out with a bang.

On a barely related note, I really hope I don't have to wait until 2021 for the final(?) Suzumiya Haruhi volume(s) to be released. But hey, to have a real date would be a lot better than the current state of purgatory.

So happy this is back
Just wish I could read them in English.

I'm glad this series is finishing after all these years.

I own the original DVDs of all Read Or Die, the ova or movie read or die and all the four Read or Dream manga that were published here. Never did get a chance to collect the Original manga though! Almost impossible to get copies by the time I fell in love with the series! More would be great anime wise!

According to you perhaps. I don't think you speak for all of us though.

I really hope that the R.O.D. novels will get a U.S. release. *finger crossed*
In the mean time I guess I'll continue with my Japanese classes and eventually buy the books over the internet.

Good news, but it will be even better if they announce a new TV series.

That's fine. That's just the vibe in our club. We doubt there'd be another series, though if there's one, it may suffer the same fate as Rozen Maiden and DRRRR who themselves took too long. Time gets harder to catch lightning in the bottle again.

Though Togashi has had a lot of hiatuses in that time, at least he was fortunate enough for vol. 23-32 to come out. On the flip side, it took over 18 years for the Evangelion manga to end.

I am probably the world's biggest R.O.D fan (my username is a reference to it), it's pretty much my favorite anime franchise, I love the OVA, I love the TV series and I love the manga (though not as much as the anime)

I always thought it was strange that Hideyuki Kurata never finished the original novel series, but now that he finally is this makes me wonder if big things are in store for R.O.D, while I obviously would love more anime I would also be very happy if the original novels got released in English.

At any rate it's wonderful to see signs of life from R.O.D! Very Happy

Any updates on this? Did it make it's 2017 release window?
