They might be basing it on BMI but I'm not sure if that's the standard in Japan.

Japan has a much harsher view on appearance. This is designed to cater to a very specific clientele, but overall, there is less acceptance for even mildly fat people in Japan. I have no problems with this. They are upfront about who is allowed in and who isn't. Don't meet the requirements? Don't go and embarrass yourself.

Most of the interest pieces have little to do with anime. I find it interesting, and I wager quite a few people who read ANN do as well. If you don't, it's pretty easy to opt out.

Clearly not a casual dining experience! gonna be terrible to spill the coffee on a customer now!
Also Asian societies tend to use social pressure for many things. I am pretty sure people that fit into the category would only become hyper sensitive and self aware in such a setting.

Well, us humans were all born with nothing, so I don't see anything wrong with anyone opening up a "naked restaurant", as long as everyone is of consensual adults and are treated fairly, of course.

When was the last time News or Interest posted anything about one of the Johnny's idols? Last one I remember was when SMAP almost broke up and when Johnny's West performed the Ace Attorney anime theme.

I am 30kg above the average, even though I have 10% bodyfat, I hope they actually check the body of the patrons and the numbers are just there to simplify stuff.
