"Dengeki Online also revealed more information about the project, which is intended for young boys."
Yup. I knew to keep expectations low. Total opposite target audience from DSCS. |

Not... really. Outside of Adventure and Savers, Agumon wasn't the main Digimon. |

This is going to be worse then that last abomination, isn't it? With the annoying shouting digimon. Wow... TOEI is really throwing in the towel.

I mean Digimon games not Digimon anime.. I'm sick with Agumon even he is just minor in Digimon roster along with Gabumon. Just look at recently game Cyber Sleuth and Digimon World Last Order. |

Hasn't Digimon pretty much always been a kids' franchise outside of a couple of the newer games and Tri? Not sure why anyone would really expect much different at this point. Of course since Young Hunters somehow existed there's room for concern but it'd be hard to sink much lower than that, and I'm perfectly willing to settle for something that sticks to the basics for Digimon (i.e. Adventure, Tamers, Frontier) since the last couple of series were all over the place.

More like Bandai-Namco project. Toei just make the anime while the original concept and characters come from Bandai Namco. This is not an original Digimon anime. |

Yeah, it's odd people freaking out about a Digimon series being aimed at kids. Tri is the exception, not the rule. As far as games are concerned they are all rated CERO A and B, which are also for kids. Digimon makes one movie series for older fans and suddenly people expect the series to make a drastic shift in its demographic? Digimon has always been a kid franchise. -Stuart Smith |

So basically they want more of that Yo-Kai Watch money (which they make the toys for) by doing a Digimon series in the same vein with kids collecting Digimon on their phones.
Personally, I liked Xros Wars, but I really prefer the "one kid/one Digimon" concept and feel like we're getting a little too far into Pokemon territory with each new series. Emerje |

Same here, and I also didn't like how Xros got rid of the levels (Child, Ultimate, etc). That said, Digimon has almost always had far superior writing and characters to most toyetic shows, so I'm still excited for this new anime. I just hope it isn't too gimmicky. |

If this becomes the Gundam Build Fighters kind of show for Digimon, then there´s barely any hope... I mean, we got Cybersleuth & next order, those concept are very promising for a tv show.... am I a sadomasochist for loving and hating Toei?

October 2015 "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was being promoted during Digimon Adventure‘s 15th anniversary. What was the focus working on a Digimon game during such an important period in the franchise’s history? Habu: “As you mentioned, the 15th anniversary was last year in Japan. As you know, the Digimon IP was first delivered as a franchise for the children. Well, 15 years have passed since then, and now those kids are all grown up. So last year, we were focusing on how we can attract those old fans, who were once kids, to buy our game and get interested in Digimon again. So when we were creating the game, that was our focus.” That’s actually one of the things I wanted to talk about. When it was still coming out in Japan, Bandai Namco called Cyber Sleuth a Digimon game for adult fans." Do you think that Cyber Sleuth can help the franchise do that? In Japan, the flow is rather that the Digimon games, such as Digimon World Re:Digitaize and Digimon Collectors shifted the age target higher, and the franchise grew more successful from this. It gave the opportunity to start a project like Digimon Adventure tri. In Europe, Digimon became popular from the anime, so it is in contrast to Japan. But we hope that the game will be welcomed along with Digimon Adventure tri. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is as dramatic as the Digimon anime, so I hope that it helps Digimon achieve some kind of comeback." http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2016/01/interview_we_talk_everything_digital_with_the_producer_of_digimon_story_cyber_sleuth November 2015 "Are there plans to expand Cyber Sleuth into anime and toys and translated manga in North America, or will it remain just a video game? If the English version get rated really well, we would like to make toys and animation based on this narrative and world. But the first is to see if we can be successful in North America!(KH91: Obviously wouldn't be exclusive to NA if the project happened. Also, Bamco announced that the game was well received and sold beyond expectation.). How did you come to work with artist Suzuhito Yasuda on Cyber Sleuth and other Digimon games? The first Digimon game where we were collaborating with Yasuda was Re: Digitize. We wanted to target a higher age of customers, so we wanted to make a different sort of game. At the time, Yasuda was very popular among the 20-something crowd, so we thought that fit very well with our strategy." animenewsnetwork.com/the-x-button/2015-11-19/one-sleuth-prevails/.95538 |
