Which version is airing? Digitally altered or original?

From the dub track I heard in the Toonami promos (courtesy of Toonami Digital Arsenal), it seems to be the 4Kids dub, which means it will unfortunately be unaltered, since 4Kids doesn't do any original cuts to go along with their dubs. This is a great shame, since most of One Piece's "violence and older content" could be gotten away with on Toonami, since it's pretty tame compared to other more violent shows that have been on the block. I was hoping that 4Kids would announce that Toonami's One Piece would be based off of a newly announced, uncut version of the series by Funimation in the same vein as the uncut releases of Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King, but alas, it was not meant to be, and we do not have Toonami's Midnight Run to look forward to possible unedits of popular shows. (Then again, I'd give that up any day for Adult Swim.) |

Give it time. A lot of time. An unedited version will hit the shelves some day. One Peice has a huge fan base and will only get bigger as many will enjoy 4kids edited version (even if it does not last). |

How many times do I have to say this?
One Piece is NOT leaving 4kidstv. Toonami will show the first 20 or so episodes. The second season of One Piece on 4kidstv will be shown on 4kidstv later THIS year. It's the same thing with TMNT.(CN showed the reruns,Foxbox/4kidstv shows all new episodes.) For the record, ratings have improved slightly. (Naysayers. They're my pet peeve.) |

Edited or not, this move is very convenient for me because now I'm able to catch up on watching the series. In the Cleveland/Akron area, One Piece aired on Sundays at 9:30 AM, and I go to church on Sundays, so I always miss watching it. (Plus, my VCR broke, and I don't plan on buying another one. )

Yeah, it will come some day, but since I've been enjoying the uncut manga all this time and I haven't see any fansubs of the show past the first 3 episodes, I was hoping to be able to see a decent version of a fun show instead of an innaccurate, sanitized version. The current current story in the Shonen Jump manga right now is the Baratie Arc (which introduces Sanji), and a couple of weekends ago I watched my first episode of 4Kid's One Piece, which had the exact same chapters I had just read. Too say the least, I was disappointed, especially with the terrible voicework for all the chefs, especially Sanji, whose voice I just immediately hated. The fact that I had not seen fansubs of anything past the first three episodes coupled with the fact that I did not like the way the episode was presented in English means that, even uncompared to fansubs I didn't watch, I'm not liking what 4Kids has done. But then again, I can't complain, since I'm not paying any money or taking time to (illegally) download the uncut version. |

Yeah lets learn an entirely new language and spend several thousands of dollars on a cheaply produced (yet still pretty neat) incomplete series aimed for kids. Wait, what? |

I don't think most people feel that the voices are the problem.
