Nothing makes a better gift to an Anime fan than Tomatoes from Gainax after all who doesn't like tomatoes there great for throwing at things you hate.

I made quite the same association.
Tomatoes are something of a bane to me, but the nature of this article reminds me of when I watched a Q&A session with two staff members from Production I.G. During a slideshow of their offices, they pointed out a company-run Italian restaurant on the ground floor of their building, which was noted—accurately or otherwise—to be more profitable than their animation operations.

Well, if you have the right people to do it, and they're willing to work for you, then why not?
The tomato sauce would go perfectly with Francis Ford Coppola's pasta.
