Whenever a TOEFL ad banner appears, the browser shows "Done" with nothing below the banner displayed (thus I can't even report "Ads by [...]"). Computer OS: Windows XP Pro SP3, browser: Firefox 3.0.4

Note: as I uploaded this screencap to Photobucket I saw the same banner ad there but was bug-free.

hmm, the next time you see that problem could you try to do "View source" and find the "Ads by [...]" in there?

Hey, you learn something every day. I had never noticed the "Page Source" button before.

I just got it (again), and in the latest Hey, Answerman column (again). Once again an ad for SmileCity was behind it, though this was a different ad to the three I saw before.

Anyway, I did what you said to do and got "Ads by Rubicon".

I just encountered the bug twice more:
1) After marking all topics read I went back to the list of topics (the address is animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=15) All I see is some ads by Google on a blue background. Below them was just a blue background
2) I came to this topic and deleted my previous post. When I did I encountered the TOEFL ad with the blue background below it, and nothing more

According to the page source:
Ads by Gorilla Nation

That's how it was in both cases. So the problem is still there.

I got the same problem with the TOEFL ad, and the text was "Ads by Gorilla Nation", too.

Shortly thereafter, I got same problem twice in a row with an ad (in Danish) for Travian, a browser based strategy game -- this one was with the text "Ads by Gorilla Nation Performance".

Finally the symptom reappeared two minutes ago: one more "Ads by Gorilla Nation" just like the three above me.

I've not seen the Travian ad here, but it's been running on AoD for months and never caused me any problems. I have had my browser (Chrome) hang both here and there recently though, and it seems to be related to flash adverts. Given that I tend to have to terminate the tab (although one time it brought the whole browser down and compared to IE and Firefox that's almost unheard of) I've never had any information on the cause.

Hey,

We know the cause. It's going to be fixed shortly (we hope!)
