It seems otakus love yuri connotations. Unfortunately, they don't like something more explicite.

But of course some like it a bit more explicit! It just has to be embedded to some bullsh**ed plot or pull off any of these subtropes. Mad

Interesting as this sounds, if something of the ilk happens over the pond, it'll probably be in some big city where I'd have to travel across nearly the whole country to see it. Heck, even New York would be a distance. Nothing happens in Michigan.

Now I love Marimite and all, but 3D? I can't imagine even the shows biggest fans saying this is something that needed to be done in 3D. I'm not saying I wouldn't go see it, I'm just a little confused as to how 3D Marimite would be any more interesting than the regular anime version. Nothing I can remember in the show warrants the effect. Simoun would make a lot more sense to 3D if you really want some 3D shojo-ai that badly, otherwise why not 3D Black Lagoon or something =P

I could care less about this particular series, but I'm curious as to what sort of "3D" will be going on here. CGI characters done up in anime style? A more realistic-looking CGI take? Simple pop-off-the-page 2D images like you get with those red-and-blue glasses? Razz

Yeah, you'd think with Cream Lemon: Escalation back in the eighties there'd be more anime/manga yuri porn, at least.

Simoun and Strawberry Panic were the two big yuri shows of 2006, and the yuri was quite textual. Still haven't seen StoPani and what I've seen of Simoun (first nine eps) doesn't make me think it's a great yuri story. I'll take the subtext and innuendo and one-sided love plots, thanks.

Liking Marimite a lot more now that I have it on DVD than when I just watched the Animax Asia dub. Coincidentally my sisters' school was founded by French-Canadian nuns, and they do love to say things en francais in Lillian. Nothing like seeing actual Catholic schoolgirls in military uniform (Citizen's Army Training) for yuri fodder. Especially an Utena-esque cadette in officer's dress whites. That was before the nuns decided that officers should wear skirts instead of pants, though, which kind of ruined the cross-dressing appeal.

Methinks kinda like Bolt 3D.

Aren't ya guys concerned that anime is following Hollywood's new in-thing? Laughing
