Interesting collection, are there bookends employed, or are those the most well-behaved DVD cases in history?
Quote: | Unfortunately, misfortune lands upon him one fateful taste, and he loses his eyesight. Through a series of events, he learns how to cope with losing his “usefulness,” and ends up having to strike someone down for revenge. |
Does the story at least explain why a taste tester needs their sight to be useful?

Somebody should have warned you about CA's seasons: mudslide, fire, something, and riot. (demoted to last for forgetting the punchline *droops head*)

Probably earthquake. I hear we just had a drill down south.
Kinda surprised Haruka got Shelf Worthy. Awhile back, wasn't it trashed for being a ripoff of something?

Ah, living in California is a double edged sword... All the fires that are raging right now have formed a ring around my area (I live between the 605, the 5, and the 91. Yay.). It's raining ash when it should be raining water! Plus, I'm pretty sure going outdoors is a bad idea right now.

Y'know, sometimes I think about sending in pictures of my anime collection, but my eight portable hard drives just don't seem like they'd fit into the theme. I've got the Azumanga omnibus, and a dvd copy of Totoro. Creating a visual representation of the other six terabytes worth of anime I posses might be a little difficult though...
Also, Ghost Hunt rocked.

Awhile back, I was butthurt about Haruka because I thought it was a ripoff of Fushigi Yuugi. Someone convinced me to keep watching, so I did, and eventually, I got over the similarities.
Plus I kind of miss FY. ;__;

Ha! No fires here in the central valley. Just the seasons of summer and winter, random weather (serious downpour a couple weeks ago before returning to warmer temps), and terrible air quality.
Ah, so many Pokemon DVDs I need to buy still...

All that means is that by the time I've finally cleared all the ash from my lungs, something else bursts into flames. Thanks, Santa Ana winds. And thanks for the nonexistent rainfall which allows such things to happen. |
I'd be happy to lend you some of our rain if it were possible. We've got something of a surplus of it here in Vancouver.

Never got into Fushigi Yuugi, though that has a lot to do with the dubs I've watched on TV. AXN-Asia's English dub was horrid. Telesuccess's Tagalog dub had Miaka sounding like Fujiko Mine; both were played by Rose Barin, who sounds great as sexy women, but terrible as high school girls or younger.
I did manage to catch the TV series ending and spotted the cover of My Little Lover's evergreen Xeroxed as part of the background art.

Given that he lost his sight "in the line of duty" as it were, it could be that his lordship would prefer not to be the next one blinded when his blind taster doesn't notice that the food seems to have a negative effect on one's visual acuity.

GHOST HUNT is my favorite show that I'm currently collecting on DVD; it's kind of like GHOST HUNTERS but they actually find ghosts. I agree with the review that the lack of "outside distractions" really helps the show maintain its spooky vibe. However I did think that some story arcs(especially the first one) went on a little too long--because the stories are somewhat traditional and old-school they can be a bit predictable. But that's just a minor complaint--the show does rely more on cumulative horrific effect(which I like) rather than "BOO!" style scares and twists(which is what I hate about most modern horror movies. ) Two more thumbs up.

I'm a wuss about scary stuff too (there's one scene in the novel The Shining that had me screaming and throwing the book LOL). Ghost Hunt is about at my limit. Lots of people might find it lame, but it's good old-fashioned chills that can be a lot of fun.

As a Californian, I can tell you that it is : Earthquake, fire, mudslide (mudslide MUST follow fire because that's exactly what happens) and then "Not"

I've been wanting to see Haruka and now I'm reassured about getting...when it comes out in a box set because I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $25 or so for 2 episodes a disc. Sorry, ain't happening. And I'll hold off on the box set as well if it's too expensive.

I was offended that they were actually putting two episodes out on a disk for that amount of money. And I'm a HUGE supporter of Haruka. But I can't justify that kind of marketing. This isn't FY, people, come on!
