Of all the Gundam designs, Turn-A was the worst!

Whenever I see Turn A, I still think about Bandai not releasing the series in US. It's upsetting.

Meh, the real Turn A looks better. But Gundam fans will be Gundam fans, I guess.

If by 'Gundam' you're talking about the actual Gundams, then I would have to agree. There is a point at which 'unconventional' becomes 'bizarre', and Turn-A sort of went there. However, if by 'Gundam' you just mean any and all MS in a Gundam show, then this would be my nomination: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/z/nrx-055.htm |

Only thing bad about the design was the mustache, which really was only there so they could call it the mustache mobile suit (or what ever they referred to it as, i forget the exact name)
But the series was a good series, not the best but certainly not the worst. |

Meh, that redesign looks boring, just like any other run-of-the-mill Gundam. And how can you guys hate on the mustache ?! It's stylish, I tell ya!
I see you're not familiar with G Gundam... http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/g/index.htm |

You know I really don't get why people hate the Turn A so much I frankly think it is beautiful, yes the moustache is a little silly but once you are over it an you absorb the streamlining and fluidity of the design I think it is really very pretty.
That and I find it far more individualistic than a lot of other 'Clone of the RX-78-2' protagonist suits you get in other series. It's whole build is different. It has an iPod sense of minimalism that still has a wonderful majestic look. I can appreciate that okay people dislike it, but on an emotional level I really can't understand why. Anyway, Okawara's design is too stocky, though I like the head unit in his design that's rather nice. But if you make the Turn-A look stockier and less individual your really harm the design in my opinion. |

It was animated in a flashback in the episode where Domon fought Kyral (Neo Nepal's pilot) |

I like Turn-A's regular head design.
Aside from Zeta it's the only one I can think of that's notably different in a way besides "what ridiculous samurai helmet can we put on this?" |

It's because it looks too different. People may always claim they want something new but when they get it they'll complain because in the end what they really want is the same thing over and over again. Turn A's design is radically different from any other series. It doesn't look "Gundamy" enough so people go "That's not Gundam!" I'll freely admit that I held that mindset when I was young and stupid. I refused to recognise Turn A as a Gundam series. But eventually I did actually watch it and it's really good. The Turn X is way cooler, though. |
