Did Bubblegum Crisis show on Action Channel? I thought that was Bubblegum Crisis 2040.
As for "updates..." Parasite Dolls is coming out sometime. |

Oh well. I caught 2040 on the action channel last year. They had a small marathon of it or something.

Yeah, I've seen both pop up on Action from time to time. I don't think I caught all of the original, though, since it seemed like I was missing out on a lot of the story somehow. 2040 was pretty well-acted, if nothing else.

BGC 2040 started out nice. But then the animation got worse and the last few episodes were rather rushed. I didn't really like the conclusion too. Great rocking soundtrack though.
Ah, I never had the chance to catch the original OVA. Should have bought that over-priced boxed set. Oh, and it's probably bootleg too. But who cares. |

The original 2032-2033 series is most definitely superior to the 2040 variant....
Being from the older generation of anime fans, it constantly amazes me at the number of people who haven't seen the original series... it used to be staple fare. |

Prefer the 2032 version, so-so with 2040, hate Crash!, and the AD Police stuff is so-so.

The original Bubblegum Crisis (as well as Project A-ko and Dominion Tank Police) are responsible for my anime fandom.
2032 is one topnotch series that launched the careers of Kenichi Sonoda (creator of Gunsmith Cats, Riding Bean, and the manga Cannon God Exxaxion) and Masaki Kajishima (creator of Tenchi Muyo, Dual! Parallel Adventure). It's humorous, dramatic, action packed, and a great homage to Blade Runner. It's too bad 2040 was a train wreck. Losing the Sonoda character designs, the main character's personalities, and the emphasis on music was a huge mistake. |

I loved BGC (OAV) when it came out, and have the Animeigo LDs. But a couple of years ago I rewatched it and found it just hadn't aged well; I don't see it holding its own against more recent animation, either in art or plot.
Not that I'm getting rid of the discs. Nostalgia will make me watch them again someday. |

Raygal was right though. In the newer BGC they focus way too much on the music and not enough on the voice actors or touch up art. I thought there were alot of flaws in 2040 but thats only one mans opinion. As for crash I haven't seen it yet.
And for the people that want top buy the 1st series try to gewet onto a military base and order it from a commisary. I get mine t factory price almost. |

While we're at it, anyone knows what is Animeigo's schedule concerning the new edition of the BGC OVA? When do they plan to release it?
