Hello, fellow otaku. For those of you who follow fansubs and the like, a lot of series have just wrapped up their seasons. Now that a new season of pleasurable anime viewing is upon us, I'd like to know what new series have caught your attention and why. It doesn't matter if you just talk about the first episode or whatever episodes you have seen. You can even talk about last season's shows.
Here are my picks: Aishiteruze Baby- It's cute and light for the most part. Yuzuyu is just adorable and the fact that a real 8 year old is the seiyuu is an added bonus and really brings something extra to the show. I may be slightly biased because I'm a fan of anything that comes out of Ribbon, like Super Gals and Full Moon wo Sagashite. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien- I haven't finished watching all of it, but from what I've seen, it's a bang-up romantic drama. The story actually reminds me of one that I was planning to write, but decided to postpone. Maybe it will inspire me to keep writing. It's based off of a bishoujo game (hentai game) but most wonderful anime are. Love Love?- My first impression was that this was going to be a typical harem anime again. And I was right, except that it seems to be full of nothing but fan-service. But hey, I'm not one to complain . I'll keep watching just to see if there's actually any story involved. Other than that, bring on the eye-candy! Wind~A Breath of Heart~ - This anime looks pretty nice as well, with sort of a schoolkids/romance/fantasy schpiel. It's also based off of a bishoujo game of the same title. I'll have to keep watching. Girls Bravo- Ayako Kawasumi, in another role this season?! Boy, oh boy, does that girl ever take a nap? Haha, perhaps one of my favorite voice actresses, she stars what looks to be a harem romantic comedy. The main character, Yukinari, is a wimpy sort of second year student in highschool. Because of his short stature and baby face, he had been bullied by girls his whole life, even his best friend and neighbor, Kirie. He developed gynophobia from the abuse and gets hives whenever a female touches him. One day he walks into his bathroom and finds Kirie in there without permission to take a bath. She beats the crap out of him and he lands in the bathtub, which transports him to an unknown planet where the number of women is 9/10 of the population. He befriends Miharu, who strangely does not give him hives when she touches him. Chaos ensues when the girls find that there's a man there and try to make him their own. Miharu and Yukinari escape and end up back on Earth. Hmm. I gave like, a whole episode synopsis, but that's because I really like this show and I can't wait to see what happens. Ok then folks, let the posts fly! |

Paranoia Agent- the most underrated show this season. without a doubt Satoshi Kon's most genius work to date. it's hard to describe, you just have to see it for yourself.
Monster- Great Story with lots of drama, and possibly one of the best villians ever. Chrno Crusade- fun show with a decent amount of action. ending's a real downer though. Samurai Champloo- great mock up of feudal japan, and it has some fantastic fight scenes. |

Samurai Champloo- i believe when it come to america it will be a hit of cowboy bebop proportions Chrono Crusade- haven't seen much of the anime but i like the manga Gungrave- just came out in america and i believe it's sales will pick up in the later volumes once the series starts to get good. Burst Angel- heard it had a lot of gun play, and am looking forward to seeing it Saiyuki Gunlock- liked the first two seasons so i can't wait for the third |

It's always good to hear opinions and such, but there was a thread from a couple weeks ago that hit on this.
animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8016 And if you're interested, ANN has a Summer Preview Guide as well. |

As far as I'm concerned, the new season that just started is all about one thing and one thing, only:
Maria-sama ga Miteru ~ Haru. I still say the first season is one of the best and most underrated titles of 2004, and I look forward to Haru carrying on with that same level of charm and sheer quality. Besides, you can never have too much Sei Satou. |
