Just found this while surfing, and thought it was pretty cool and might be of interest. Also, didn't know if this should fall into Anime/Manga. later. -13 Its from a Live Action AKIRA Fan Film. Heres the site, with a Teaser trailer. * If youre interested in seeing the trailer, I think the MPG link is the only one still alive. Heres a picture of Kaneda and his Bike! And Tetsuo flaming up! Does anyone know anything about this? The Site has no Dates so, it doesnt indicate whether this was an old-project or a new one. It goes into some news about postproduction, but its very vague... Anyway, take care All. |

Too bad Streamline's no longer around (tho Kodancha did the Akira dub) he'd be perfect.
It's never going to be finished, or if it is, it'll just be some motorcycle chases. The whole point of fanfilms is to make new stories in an existing universe, not make something that would cost $100+ million to shoot properly. |

The bike looked like a Hot Wheel, with the camera at an angle to make it look bigger. |

I thought the whole point of fanfilms was to have fun and act out your fantasies of being in a movie you love. |

Yeah, just wait for my indie-film company's October release, Reminiscence (the title is a refrence to Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories). It is a collection of short films we have made and are making, and one of them is going to be a tribute to the opening chase from Akira, but we're going to be on bicycles with 2x4s instead of pipes. There is also a part on another short that will be on the disc where a guy lights his hand on fire and it looks like an anime-style effect... it's very cool, but was very hard to film. We'll have a website up soon, and for those of you who have been here over 8 months, our anime-inspired cartoon project based on the Kunio-Kun NES games is still in the works. We had to put it on hold for a little while, but production will start on that soon, and after that we're going to do an unofficial Battle Royale movie that will probably be animated.
