What up everybody, I haven't posted up here for a little while, but I got a couple of things to ask you guys about
1. Anybody ever play that Escaflowne game?? Is it worth getting? What kind of game is it? I seen the cutscenes from the game, and they looked pretty good , especially one of the endings
2. What was up with the Hellsing ending???? That sh#t got me tight (upset, for those who don't understand my slang ). A good series up until the end, can some one explain was Integra a vampire or something, because Alucard kept talking about, do you wanna drink my blood or whatever? And why was she locked up, or in handcuffs or whatever those were? Please don't tell me I got to go and buy the Manga
3. When Allen in Escaflowne said Dilandu's my sister I was rolling I know it was supposed to be a serious part, but the way it came out i thought was kind of funny
4. I'm looking into getting a new anime series but dont know which one to get. Ok I'm looking for an action anime, a cool main character without an ANNOYING sidekick, where there's a good and COMPLETE ending, nice action scenes, good artwork, good music
I was thinking about, X and Knight Hunters so far but dont know too much about them, If you have any suggestions get at me
I'm waiting for the Wolf's Rain, and Gundam Seed dvds right now
But one thing thats gets on my nerves are thos annoying sidekicks that tell the main character they shouldnt fight or whatever, but you know the main character's fight anyway ( ex:Hitomi, Relena Peacecraft) I understood their roles and why they didn't want fighting, but this time I want an anime without a character like them, I like the co-stars from the Cowboy Bebop and the cast of Outlaw Star, where they all are apart of the action, instead of complaining and crying all the time you know
5. Is there a best of Yoko Kano ( i think that's how you spell her name) music Cd out ?? And if yes , where can I get it??

2. To put it simple: Alucard asked her if she wanted to become a vampire, as he did with Ceres in the biginning. "It's your choice..." And the reason she was locked up is because she was framed and jailed by the higher-ups, if you followed the story.
3. Is this a question? :p
4. Go for the X TV series. Good, and there isn't any such annoying character. In fact, about everyone is more or less willing to fight.

nah no 3 was a comment i thought i put out
Thanks for the info, Overall it was a good series but did not like the last episode at all Paladin was in the last episode, but all he did was smile??? Besides Alucard, he was my favorite character, didn't like the way he didn't do anything after all the fighting he did earlier
A question about X then -- is Camuy ( i think thats how you spell it), annoying like he was in the movie?

First of all, welcome back . Now then:
2. The ending of Hellsing is just a bunch of crap that Gonzo made up. There isn't supposed to be any kind relevance in what might have happened or anything. All of that Incognito jargin was just to serve as filler while the manga was still being produced.
And as a result, no more Hellsing anime. Too bad eh? I really like that series and wish it could've been longer.
4. Get X (TV.) I definately recommend the series and it is my #3 all-time. Although I haven't seen the movie, I can tell you Kamui isn't very whiny at all. He's actually pretty aggressive for the most part of the series. Other people like to say this is how the movie should've been, but couldn't be because of time constraints and whatnot.
I really like this series and it's full of a good amount of action, drama, and emotion. I don't recall any sidekick characters either, since each character (Ten no Ryuu and Chi no Ryuu) all have their respective scenarios. I guess the only character you can call a sidekick is Yuzuriha's dog Inuki, but then again he can't talk and doesn't really do much anyway.
So yes, get this series. I prefer it in Japanese naturally, but the dub is actually one of the very few I think is very good, so if you're into dubs, you shouldn't be dissapointed.
5. I haven't seen one. What I would do is just buy a bunch of her individual OSTs (like Bebop, Arjuna, Wolf's Rain, Escaflowne, etc.) and just burn the ones you like onto one disc. I wish she did have one though...

What's funny is that my GF bought me the X (Boxed set) for X-mas. (pardon the pun) but to my dismay it was a stinking bootleg courtesy of E(vil)Bay. Needless to say that i didn't even bother to watch it. Bootlegs, especially HK DVDs are of bad quality especially when it comes to mispelling and poor use of grammar.
I let one of my co-workers borrow the set and i didn't even ask for it back. If there's nothing of interest on the Best Buy shelves, i just might give X a look.
As for Hellsing, very good series but the ending was inconclusive IMO.

Thanks for the Info
From now on before i buy any anime I'm asking this forum first because - I'm tired of going thru a whole series just to be dissappointed at the end. Hellsing and Evangelion really pissed me off- I know Evangelion's supposed to be deep and all that, but I wasn't looking for the meaning of life or whatever, i just wanted to see some cool mecha battles, ya know --
But anywayz has anybody played the Escaflowne game or heard about it ???
I wanna know if its worth looking for it or not.

Actually, I have both the R1 and bootleg versions. The bootleg is made by "fx" and it was basically a copy of the R1, so the subs were the exact same. However, one of the DVDs stopped playing around episode 9, so bleh, yeah they stink.
Fortunately though, I was lucky enough to find a used complete box set of X (TV) on eBay. It had all of the LE slipcovers and box, and I got it for $187.50. I watched them just last week and they were almost in perfect condition (DVDs were scratch free, but there a few of these flaky things on the last volume's slipcase.)
So what's the moral? Eventhough eBay is full of bootlegs, if you look in the right spots, you can get some VERY good deals.

Please do. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure you'll like it based on all the other anime you said you like.

avoid Knight Hunters...it was made for fangirls who don't care about poor animation, which is sad considering who the Japanese voice actors are who were in it...storyline is pretty bad too...and there are alot of things that don't add up...
though for X, if you're looking into in Rightstuf.com has a bundle for all 8 dvds for about $100.

though if you're gonna ask before you buy the series please check teh encyclopedia first to see if there is already a review on the series you are looking into...that can save alot of time. you could also search the forums to see if anyone has already asked about a particular series too, just to avoid repeat questions...

If you want the version of Hellsing that doesn't suck, I really would suggest the manga. Most of the material in the TV series after the Valentine Brothers' attack was pretty much Studio GONZO's attempt to ad-lib an ending because they managed to pass the manga. As a result, it's littered with plot holes, loose ends, and one of the worst villains in contemporary Japanese animation. The manga, however, uses the Valentine Brothers incident as a prelude to a much greater story arc involving Nazis manufacturing artificial vampires to revive the Third Reich, or something like that. Very nice stuff.

Definitely get X, for all the reasons you mentioned above. It fits that description to a 'T,' and in my opinion is one of the best anime to come out in the past few years.

Like virtually all anime games, it's terrible, and Escaflowne is far more terrible than most. It's one of the sloppiest crappiest I have ever played. Most of it is a 3rd person isometic view where you try in vain to control Escaflowne as they flail around at various enemies and bring up cutscenes.
I bet they spent a whole month on it before shipping
