You'll have to look elsewhere for your information.

If you want to see Cowboy Bebop, buy it, watch it on TV, or borrow a friend's copy. Don't steal it.

He hasn't stolen nothing. He just downloaded it, I suppose from a legal web site. Are you saying that all things people download is "stole"? I don't know, maybe he (or she) has illegal files, but I won't use that word. Sounds really bad. Anyways, it's Cowboy Bebop, and it has to be easier to find than others.
Yeah, it's not we don't want to help you, it's just we can't. One advice, I had the same problem and I asked a solution to my informatic teacher, but as I suppose you can't do that now, ask a friend. (This is allowed, isn't it?)

Actually, according to US Law, he committed intellectual property theft when he downloaded the video. In other words, legally speaking, yes, he did steal it.
Here's a quick lesson:
1) All Fansubs Downloaded from the 'Net are Illegal. (In the US it's illegal to make available & download, in Canada it's illegal to intentionally provide copies (making available through an automated process such as a peer-peer network isn't illegal, and neither is downloading)). Note: What Balla downloaded isn't even a fansub, it's a DVD rip, pure bootleg.
2) It is generally accepted that it acceptable (although technicly illegal) to make fansubs available before they are licensed, but that providing or downloading licensed titles is unethical.
3) Cowboy Bebop is licensed.
4) The website that he downloaded the torrent from regularly makes licensed properties available.
5) The website in question is breaking the law by linking to all those torrents. It's essentially a video piracy website.
Understand, I'm not stating my opinion on any of this. Merely stating a few facts.
Regardless of law, or personal opinion, ANN's policy is that links to fansub websites are not allowed. The rest of his post doesn't directly break any of our rules.

That's not entirely true. Our rules say nothing about discussion of fansubs, or technical issues related to these.
The topics are merely frowned upon in some cases, and in others are perfectly okay. It's a judgment call that people will have to make...
Now, here's the (subjective part) Judgment call:
Balla: If you were asking for help viewing an unlicensed fansub, I wouldn't be opposed to anyone providing you with technical help. But since what you downloaded is licensed and easily available, why not save yourself the time and spend $2 to rent the DVD?
Anyways, since you're asking for help with a licensed property(essentially a bootleg), this thread is locked.
