Okay, what the hell happened? You know, in the beginning (first episode) they clearly show that Guts survived that stupid hell, but they never explain how, not even in last episode. So yeah, nice ending, Griffith raping Caska. Anyone want to share what happened after that? Who was that giant snake in the beginning of 1st episode?

IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE MANGA, DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW!!! it's only going to confuse the hell out of you. the anime is nothing more than a prequel. if you wanna know what happens beyond that point, read the manga. there's plenty of places online where you can read them, but i'm not gonna say where. |

Hellsing, berserk is one of the best animes ever made and i dont really agree with v1cious
i think that the anime is a nice intro to the manga if you deceide to read the manga, i mean id have thought that griffith was a female to start off with if i didn't watch the anime. the anime also give audio which lets people have a better image of the characters, though if you read the manga before watching the anime, you may not like the voices. |

I agree with Freddy C-- Berserk is easily one of the best anime out there, IMO, and I've read all the manga of it too. The manga is good too, but it's own thing....
I like the voices, the motion, the music-- I think the show is great in its own right. I've never understood how people are unable to dissassociate the show from the manga, and judge them seperately. There are many, many threads on this here... just look em up. There have been lots of good discussion about this topic. |

I don't see the questions left unanswered by the series to be all that detrimental to enjoying it. Somehow, he was not killed at the end, the specifics are not all that important. The important thing is that he survived to fight another day. As far as the snake at the beginning, the whole purpose there was to show that Guts was able to battle the demons on even ground. Again, the specifics are not really vital.

I liked it, i was a little confused but it ended on a good note. I know in other shows i watch just cut off leaving you with nothing. I started reading the manga. That is great. But i really liked Berserk. And i agree with Shellbullet. It ended perfect. I liked how they started from like the ending and worked its way back to the end. That was cool.

While it can stand on its own as an anime series its main intent was to get people into the manga. That's why they leave out one of the most important characters.
That being said, I liked the end. |
