HELL YES. Flag was really freaking nifty. Subbers stopped at six episodes, though, didn't they?

SWEET!! Flag is awesome. Oh, and yeah the fansubs came to a screeching halt after 6 episodes. Now, I'll get to see the rest, so I'm happy.

It stopped because the series was newest episode hasn't been released yet in Japan. Episode 5-6 was just released at the end of November, and I am for all them taking their time with this series. Beside we probably won't see the first volume of this series in the US for a while so we have sometime. I can't wait to see this series in 5.1, one of the best series last season.

Ah, I didn't know that was the reason why. Thanks, Deltakiral. I can't wait to see this series in 5.1 also. It's bound to be great.

Like with the recently licensed Tide-line Blue, I'll be hard pressed to buy it since I've had so many problems with Bandai's discs. I've sent more discs back to them than I can count on my fingers. I still have discs they won't replace and major issues with the translation of the Zeta Gundam boxed set.

I'm a huge fan of Ryosuke Takahashi (credited as "Original Creator") and have followed him since Votoms first came out. This man has been the original creator for series like Layzner, Blue Gender and Gasaraki all of which are shows with big shifts in themes and plot. He has contributed in odd ways on so many projects. He was the associate director for the early Kenshin episodes. He was the production assistant for Area 88 and Samurai 7, where he also did all of the kanji brushwork in the credits. I just finished the last episode of Tsukikage Ran last week which was even written by him.

I still wonder why he was never on any of the favorite director polls. I understand that my other favorite Yoshikazu Yasuhiko hasn't directed anything recently, but Takahasi is still very active and very good.

awesome.

i totally wasn't expecting this to happen as soon as it did. i'm concerned about the the voice acting though, this show pretty much revolves around the characters, so they can't afford to screw up the dub this time.

Yeah this license was such a shock for me, and although I am sure we knew that it was going to be Bandai that did license it was only a matter of time of when that was going to happen. You also bring up a really good point with the dub, and I'd have to agree there since the characters really make the show...well that and the sounds of the story.

This is good. I think Flag has a distinct style to it (with the whole first-person camera view and loads of documentary-esque narrative). If Bandai (of America) does a decent job marketing this, it has the potential to really open some eyes, probably more so for the artsy crowd.

I'm also hoping this will lead to the licensing of another Takahashi-made anime, Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto (man, I hope they just call it "Bakumatsu" if it ever comes here >_>...). Ever since the mediocrity of the Peace Maker Kurogane anime, I've been looking to watch another good Bakumatsu/Meiji title (though, honestly, I'll never tire of Kenshin, but it'd still be nice to have some diversity Razz).

Wow. I wasn't expecting this one!

I watched a bit of Flag by way of fansubs a few months ago, and was highly impressed by what I saw. I'll almost certainly be picking this series up on domestic DVD, esspecially since it's only 13 episodes (Less DVDs to buy - yay!).

Wow thanks of the info; I wasn't aware that he did all that awesome stuff. I was impressed with FLAG from when I first saw it and I can't wait for this release so I can finish the series.

Question, are there any plans to re-issue Flag series as a complete box set? Since the Tide-Line Blue now going to be in a box set version, so what about Flag?
