Alright! This is a very welcome surprise!

I was seriously worried that Viz would acquire these (thus resulting in something, somewhere, being censored) and I am extremely happy to hear that Yen Press has them. I'm also more than a little flabbergasted. They just started up recently right? Big name for a little company.

Mentioning specifically that the manga won't be censored is good but what about the light novels? Will they be tossing out art or cropping images? (I hope not since that's something I'd expect from Viz.)

Anyway, if they do half the job with the Haruhi light novels that Seven Seas has done with Strawberry Panic, they'll have done a very good job indeed. Yeeessss.

First they got Spiral, now these. Thanks Yen Press!

I'll just quote wikipedia here:

Quote:
Yen Press is the manga and graphic novel division of Hachette Book Group USA

If you had not heard of them, Hachette Book Group USA is a large and powerful publishing company.

Also, Viz is owned by Shogakukan and Shueisha. These are not exactly partners with Kadokawa who owns the light novels and manga.

Nobody has the light novels yet. At least this means we are one step closer to getting them.

This whole news about the Haruhi Suzumiya manga sounds rather cool if you ask me.

This is all nice and dandy, but I would rather have the light novel series released in America. XP

I like how the emphasize how the novels will not be censored. I am not a fan of Haruhi at all, but I am sure this will make Yen Press some revenue.

Just like any manga or dvd company, if the products makes revenue, they'll continue to publish. That is why there is new anime in Summer, Winter, Fall and Spring.

Totally cool news! I've been a fan of the series for awhile now and I think it's awesome we get to see these mangas now. I only hope that the light novels aren't too far behind.

But we'll see Wink .
