Hey all,
I was on an anime binge one day and started watching Peace Maker Kurogane ep15 and was in for a shock. It was funny! spoiler[I mean when Okita gives Tetsu-kun Hijikata's Haiku book hilarity ensues. Okita pulls a *ninja vanish* and you see his ghost form where he used to be. Then Tetsu starts running all over the place to get rid of it. OMG it was soo funny.] I mean really funny to me! You know one of those laugh to tears-can't hardly catch a breathe episodes that just doesnt stop in its humor stunts and unfolds as easily as a comedien delivering a punchline. Now when it comes to humor in anime Im very unique in tastes. For instance Sexy Commando Gaiden Sugoiyo!!Masaru-san comes across as one of my alltime favorites. But Im not talking funny series perse It got me thinkin there must be anime episodes that struck you in similar fashion. I would like to know a singular episode of any series that stuck out in your minds as funny-funny. Something that you could go back and watch 1000 times and still laugh. Okay cya, D.W. |

I haven't seen any Peacemaker but I want to. The funniest anime series I have seen are Tenchi Muyo,and Love Hina. The funniest espisode of Inuyasha for me is 135 where most everyone gets spoiler[Drunk from the mist, so funny and amusing, Sango hits on and tries to kiss Inuyasha so priceless it is.][/spoiler]

Thats an easy one. Though I don't have the series with me (well, in this hemisphere), so I'm not sure if it is episode 10 or 11 (though, I think it is 10). It is the episode of Kare Kano where Yukino finally unleashes her wrath upon little Tsubasa (quite deservedly, I might add)!
Outside of Dragon Half, I have never laughed that much watching anime. An episode worth the whole cost of the series *nods* |

While Cowboy Bebop is generally not thought of a funny show, for me the funniest episode ever has to be Mushroom Samba. You know, the one where spoiler[they all accidentally try shrooms and Ed manages to nab a bountyhead, before letting him go
 ]
That episode gets me laughing every time, the humor is timed so well. It's not in your face humor as in Nadeisco or Excell, but it just works so well.

I'll go with the episode of Cowboy Bebop where Spike and Jet are trying to find a vcr to play a vhs tape that was delivered to Faye. One of my favorite sessions.

Yes, that was a good episode, but I found it to be rather sad at the end, not funny.
If you want humor watch episode of Excel Saga (I forget the number) where they go to America to deal with the exploits of japanimation. Comedy gold. |

I thought the last episode of Full Metal Panic 2 was pretty good. Most of it is still a blur from laughing too hard... hmm, guess i better go watch it again

For me it would be Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi ep. 4. It's the one where Sashi and Arumi are in the Hong Kong Shopping Arcade. I was laughing so hard I cried when Sashi turned in to Bruce Lee. His face was just so funny.

1. The bowling episode (can't recall the number) of Excel Saga, the things said by the bad guy bowlers are priceless

I'll go with pretty much any episode of Excel Saga and the Ping Pong Club. But my favorite all-time funny episode was Mushroom Samba, spoiler[nothing beats Jet talking to his bonsai plants about the secrets of the universe. ]

Hahaha ! I think the whole series of Full Metal Panic Fumoffu was painfully hillarious !
Perhaps episode 8 (I think) where the story revolved around a visit to the hot springs is one of the funniest in the whole series. Had me rolling in laughter ! |

In my book Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu episode 18 goes down as the funniest episode I've ever seen. spoiler[The whole thing with Dama stalking the doctor and Guu egging everyone on is hilarious.] I laughed for hours after watching that episode.

Yes, that was a good one  . I also liked the similar episode from the Deluxe OVA. spoiler[The one where Dama is stalking everyone and everything with white hair. ] **EDIT**[It was in episode 3, Illusion 6]. <sigh> Poor Hale. And of course you have to feel sorry for the doctor.

Well, this isn't really me listing my personal picks for funniest episodes, but more of an anecdote of sorts...
You see, since the start of high school, some of my friends and I have gotten together in my basement once every summer and had an all-night party where we do nothing but watch anime. Last time we did this, I rented the first volume of Excel Saga and played it around...four or five o'clock in the morning. To be blunt, we laughed so hard we woke up the rest of the house, particularly with episode two (safe to say we're all Hyatt fans), and the ending credits with Menchi. This also happened the first time we had one of these parties, where somebody brought a fansub of Slayers Perfect (er, what ADV titled "Slayers: The Motion Picture"), and the second time, when I got my mitts on the first volume of Trigun. Anyway, more towards the point of this thread, it's too difficult for me to single out a particular overall funniest episode. However, I can say that I personally found Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu to be one of, if not the funniest titles of 2003. |
