All right, gentlemen (and women), considering that this has, for some reason or another, been a hot topic in this thread, this thread, and, to a minor extent, in this thread, and because I have been told to do so by encyclopaedia editor(s), as opposed to annoying everyone else ( Razz

), I am petitioning for the addition of The Boondocks into the Anime News Network Encyclopaedia.

I won't spend too much time delving into its validity. A couple of points I will provide:

Its art style is quite distinct from that of its source comic strip, and was intended to look, move, and feel like an anime. And it does, in terms of its animation techniques and character and background art.
It is produced primarily by American and South Korean companies, but has been animated by MADHOUSE, Inc. since season 2, Madhouse being a known Japanese animation company that is responsible for such works as Claymore, Gunslinger Girl, Technolyze, and a laundry list of others.

For these and other, smaller quips, I recommend that The Boondocks be added at the very least among the "not anime but related" titles. If it does not fit ANN's standards for what prerequisite(s) a property should meet before it is considered an anime, it does indeed belong within said category.

No. I've said clearly that asking us Encyclopedia editors "for the addition of The Boondocks into the Anime News Network Encyclopaedia" would be fruitless. There had been many users trying to submit it to the Encyclopedia way before you. To be frank, The Boondocks is just one of many dead horses, and you (plus randomuser2349) are not the first ones beating it.

We don't need you to lecture us those facts. If you want your petition looks more persuasive, try to explain why reviewing it would benefit the website, and the reward would outweigh the foreseeable costs (time, money, manpower), troubles, and criticisms (more and more fans of other "related" titles would scream and demand the same treatment). Once it gets reviewed it would be added to the Encyclopedia by default; before then, this thread will remain locked.
