I bought the first volume and wasn't too excited about it. The artwork was excellent and very dark, but the story was kinda boring. Have any of you guys read any farther into the story, and if so, does it get any better, or is the first volume style pretty much what I should expect from the rest of the series?

I thinking of buying Model. I hope it's not junk, but I'd give it a chance since it's only the first volume. Thing should get interesting by a few volumes in. Have a browse before you buy if possible, or got to the Tokyopop website and read what the next volumes are about. This helps me decide what I buy sometimes.

Yeah, and the 2nd volume's out, so maybe I'll pick it up, I really, really liked the art, and it doesn't seem to normal, so I'll check on Tokyopop.com and see what the next ones are about. Thanks, by the way, I had thought no one would reply to my thread. Very Happy

Hey, I picked it up, and it was great! Well, anyways, I was checking on ANN and it didn't have Model listed, is there another name for Model that I'm unaware of, or does it just need to be added?

Certainly looks good, and its storyline has me interested enough to give it a whirl.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for unnaturally pretty character designs.

I read a few chapters of Model a long time ago, and I was surprised to find that it was licensed (of course, very happy Anime hyper) -- although I didn't realize it was the same manga since it was released online with its japanese name... i think x_x BUT ANYHOW... I'm a sucker for pretty gothic designs as well, but the unusual story definitely drew me in Smile Definitely going to drop by the bookstore soon to pick up vol 2 Anime hyper Whee!
