It's really sad too, because a sequel actually was going to happen before Konami bought and proceeded to gut Hudson.

Aw, that's really disappointing to hear. Hope Konami took note of the reaction to the fake announcement, most of what I read was positive. Time to slip Bloody Roar 3 and 4 onto PSN and see what happens.

That was sad to hear. I liked the BR series a lot (4 was okay but too many issues and never played 3) and I would have been happy to see a new game in the franchise.

Awe darn, I was looking forward to this. The last time I played a Bloody Roar game was the one they released for Gamecube (I can't remember the subtitle). Good times.
