I have also noticed that many shonen series have had male characters that are "ambiguously homosexual". One of the examples that stands out for me is Zoro from One Piece. Zoro is by far the most macho of the main characters, yet many times I have seen in the show that he is put in poses that would normally be contributed to female characters. The most common being the wrist on the hip pose.
